We’re now looking for a Managing Editor to lead the organic content program for The Digital Project Manager, our flagship publication for delivery leaders managing projects, people and outcomes; leveraging AI to work smarter, deliver faster and lead better in fast-moving tech teams.
In this strategic, high-impact role, you’ll own the content roadmap, shape our editorial methodology, and ensure everything we publish is useful, credible, and performance-driven. You’ll also bring a passion and curiosity for connecting with others and surfacing real-world stories to ensure our content is rooted in credible, human insight.
As Managing Editor, you’ll lead a team of editors and contributors, ensuring the clarity, credibility, and consistency of everything we publish. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with content operations, SEO, and media teams to continuously improve how we create content—integrating AI, refining templates, and developing scalable frameworks that boost both quality and efficiency. With your hands-on experience in project management and PM tools, you’ll also shape our editorial voice and sharpen our point of view—bringing clarity to complexity and championing better digital project work across industries.
You’ll also play a key role in improving content engagement metrics—thinking beyond the written word to explore the use of video, downloadables, surveys, tools, visual assets, and other interactive content formats that serve user needs and strengthen our competitive edge.

- A content strategist and editorial leader with a track record of scaling organic content programs and managing high-performing content teams in digital media or SaaS.
- An AI enthusiast with a deep curiosity for how AI is shaping content and workflows, as well as the entire landscape of project management, PM tools, and the future of work. You’re excited about the possibilities AI unlocks for automating the tedious, enhancing strategy, and helping organizations work smarter. You’re eager to explore, test, and share insights that help others navigate the AI shift with confidence and clarity.
- A deep subject-matter expert in project delivery, project management and PM technology with knowledge and experience of delivery frameworks including Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches, as well as hands-on experience using tools like Monday, Asana, Clickup, JIRA, Wrike, Trello, and more. You understand the daily realities of project managers and know how to speak their language.
- A systems-minded editor who sees the story and the structure—someone who knows how to turn editorial feedback into smarter processes, better briefs, scalable templates, and AI-integrated workflows that raise the floor (and ceiling) on content quality.
- A reader-obsessed content leader. You anticipate needs, recognize friction, and shape content that reaches people at the right time, in the right way—with clarity, empathy, and purpose. You explore how content can engage—surfacing new opportunities, experimenting with formats, and helping readers stay ahead of what’s coming next.
- A hands-on contributor and explorer who tests tools, talks to users, digs deep into products, and brings experience to the content you guide. You're just as comfortable writing a first-person piece as you are leading a roadmap sync.
- A collaborative leader and strategic partner who thrives in cross-functional environments—aligning content strategy with SEO, product marketing, and brand to build long-term authority, trust, and visibility.
What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
- Lead content strategy and roadmap: Lead the content roadmap, prioritizing what we create, update, and optimize based on performance data, business goals, and audience needs. Own and evolve our editorial methodology to ensure every piece aligns with our mission to help readers future-proof their organizations. Track and analyze performance data to inform strategic decisions.
- Elevate content quality and innovation: Oversee site-wide content quality and clarity. Write and contribute first-person content on high-priority topics . Test and scale new content formats that add unique value and improve engagement. Surface emerging reader needs by talking to users, testing tools, and spotting opportunities before they appear in SEO data—with a special focus on AI topics.
- Build and scale content systems: Collaborate with SEO, Content Ops, and Media teams to refine and scale workflows and systems that improve content efficiency and consistency. Contribute to scalable processes that enhance quality and enable faster publishing without sacrificing editorial standards.
- Grow a high-performing content team: Manage and mentor a team of editors and contributors, providing structured feedback, editorial development, and career support. Coach internal experts and editors to participate in earned media and thought leadership efforts, in partnership with the Digital PR Lead.

- Content output & velocity: Volume of high-quality net-new and updated articles published each month, aligned to strategic priorities and roadmap goals. processes that increase quality, reduce friction, and enable scale—resulting in faster time-to-publish, increased traffic and revenue, and reduced content production costs.
- Content quality & clarity: Adherence to editorial standards, voice, and structure—along with improvements in engagement metrics, UX feedback, and time-to-publish efficiency.
- Performance impact: Growth in keyword rankings, organic traffic, and conversion rates from content tied to business-critical topics and funnel stages.
- Systemic & scalable improvements: Enhancements to templates, briefs, workflows, and AI-assisted processes that increase quality, reduce friction, and enable scale—resulting in faster time-to-publish, increased traffic and revenue, and reduced content production costs.
- Team development: Feedback adoption, editorial growth, and quality improvements from contributors, resulting in faster content cycles, increased publishing autonomy, and higher volume of consistently high-quality content.
- Thought leadership readiness: Media participation and SME engagement with Digital PR.
Your Skillset Includes
- 5–7+ years in organic content strategy, editorial leadership, or content marketing.
- A strong background in project management or digital delivery, with firsthand experience using tools like Asana, Jira, Wrike, Trello, ClickUp, and managing real projects across cross-functional teams.
- A proven track record of managing teams and publishing high-impact content at scale, with strong editorial judgment and a clear user-first mindset.
- Deep knowledge of SEO, content UX, and content operations—and how to align them to business goals.
- Experience with AI-assisted content production, including prompt writing, tuning, and optimizing workflows for quality and efficiency.
- Familiarity with frameworks like Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall—and how they play out in real-world agency, studio, or tech environments.
- Strong research and interviewing skills, with an ability to translate complexity into clarity.
- Proficiency with content and analytics tools like GA4, Ahrefs, Airtable, and WordPress.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and project management skills.
- A deep curiosity about what’s next in project management—from new tools to new ways of working—and a passion for helping others adapt and thrive.
Nice To Haves
- Experience contributing expert commentary or appearing in thought leadership content
- Familiarity with PR/media collaboration and working alongside outreach or communications teams
- Background in content UX, accessibility, or conversion-oriented design for content
Salary Statement:
This full-time position is available as a remote role with the option to use our office in Vancouver, BC if you live locally. The role offers an annual base salary in the range of $140,000 to $180,000 CAD. The range is a guide for the expected skills, knowledge, and experience for new hires based in Canada only. Seniority level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. This means ranges will vary for candidates based outside of Canada and/or at different seniority levels. In addition to annual salary, full-time employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
