Job Description Summary

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and designing processes, objectives, strategies and/or work products in order to drive standardization and efficiencies leading to function success. Responsibilities include but are not limited to strategic sourcing, client stakeholder management, supplier performance management and continuous cost and performance improvement. This role maintains effective cross-functional relationships with internal cross-functional teams such as Business Development, Technical Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Program Management, and R&D.

Job Description

The Manager is responsible for end-to-end Sourcing and Supply Chain of New Product Introductions, including prospecting, contracting and onboarding of third-party vendors to support R&D and pre-commercial projects, ensuring ongoing Supply Chain launch readiness and efficient management of primary materials, bulk and finished goods across multiple sites.

The Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and prepare business cases for new product or vendor selection, with a particular focus on parenteral manufacturing. Additionally, the Manager will develop and drive the Pre-commercial Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs and focus on fostering, mentoring and developing suppliers. 

The Manager participates in the global initiatives, including strategic planning, supply network optimization, continuous improvement, make-versus-buy assessments and cost-saving initiatives. The Manager is self-directing and is expected to collaborate successfully with cross-functional functions to satisfy goals and objectives and strategically prepare all aspects of the supply chain to support the New Product Introductions.

The Pre-commercial sourcing team has an active role in driving projects forwards, supporting Project Management and cross-functional teams, as first point of commercial escalation across our third-party network.
