Job Summary:
As a Manager of Software Engineering (AI Tooling) in the Employee Platform Technology team, you will lead multiple engineering teams to design and deliver secure, stable, and scalable products that empower our employees. You will drive day-to-day execution, remove delivery obstacles, and ensure solutions meet compliance standards and business requirements. You will champion enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices with clear expectations for human validation and secure handling of inputs and outputs. You will foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and engineering excellence while improving developer experience and platform outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineering teams to deliver high-quality products iteratively and efficiently
  • Set clear expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
  • Execute and oversee solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting across the delivery lifecycle
  • Write, review, and maintain secure production code and supporting algorithms aligned to design constraints
  • Produce and contribute to architecture and design artifacts for applications and platform capabilities
  • Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and automation to improve speed, quality, and operational outcomes
  • Define ways of working for AI-assisted development, including review and validation expectations and secure handling of inputs and outputs
  • Anticipate cross-team dependencies and coordinate delivery to meet business requirements
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and deliver in alignment with compliance standards and service level agreements
  • Analyze and synthesize insights from large, diverse data sets to improve products, reporting, and engineering effectiveness
  • Contribute to engineering communities of practice and help strengthen an inclusive, respectful team culture

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
  • Demonstrated experience managing software engineers and leading technology delivery
  • Proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle and modern engineering toolchains
  • Working knowledge of agile practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery, resiliency, and security
  • Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining production systems in a large enterprise environment
  • Proficiency with Python and AI coding assistants in engineering workflows
  • Understanding of AI agents and agentic workflows and how they impact software delivery
  • Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools, including setting review/validation practices and measuring outcomes
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, security/resiliency implications, and governance expectations
  • Practical cloud-native experience with AWS

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • Experience working with databases and database querying languages
  • Experience with Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot
  • Experience optimizing developer tooling and engineering automation at scale
  • Experience building reusable patterns and standards adopted across multiple teams
