In the role, the Manager is responsible for the establishment, implementation and maintenance of an appropriate framework, systems and controls to ensure the effective identification, monitoring and management of the ManCo's operational risks.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the PCF-39B in fulfilling the Designated Person role as set out in the ManCo’s consolidated Business Plan and Programme of Activity
  • Ownership of the error/incident process for the ManCo including logging and remediating each matter that is identified or brought to the attention of the ManCo
  • Ensure there is appropriate oversight, control and challenge of the ManCo’s delegates recorded by the ManCo’s Delegate Risk Oversight team
  • Ensure that the services documented in SLAs with other Waystone Group entities are delivered to the ManCo to a satisfactory standard and frequency
  • Oversee the ManCo’s resilience plan and associated framework
  • Ensure the ManCo’s responsibilities set out in the various intragroup SLAs are fulfilled
  • Ensure operational risk policies and procedures for the ManCo are reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure they remain current and appropriate
  • Ensure the ManCo Board receives regular reporting for consideration and approval
  • Support the Chief Operating Officer on key projects within the ManCo
  • Support the Chief Risk Officer to implement the ManCo’s risk management framework
  • Maintain good working relationships and good communication channels with other business units in the ManCo
  • Attend and participate in due diligence meetings
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes

 

REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role within operational risk management or control team;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong networking skills and adept at building relationships.
  • Ability/experience working in a fast-paced environment with outstanding time management, organizational, oral/written communication skills, critical thinking and attention to detail.

Education:

  • An internationally recognised professional qualification or degree or significant experience in a similar function
