The Manager, CMO/CDMO Finance Business Partner supports Finance across Contract Manufacturing and Contract Development & Manufacturing activities, providing financial planning, performance management, cost accounting, contract analysis, and decision support.

Working closely with CMO/CDMO leadership and cross-functional partners across External Supply, Planning, Procurement, TechOps, R&D, Accounting and Finance, the role helps translate operational plans and contractual arrangements into clear financial insights and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and performance management across the CMO/CDMO portfolio, including risks, opportunities and management reporting.
  • Partner with Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Operations to ensure forecasts reflect production volumes, capacity, inventory, tech transfer timelines, launches and lifecycle assumptions.
  • Read and interpret relevant commercial and manufacturing agreements, translating key contractual terms into financial implications, risks and required actions.
  • Maintain visibility over pricing mechanisms, supplier commitments, milestones, payment terms, claims, settlements, accruals and true-ups.
  • Support virtual plant and external manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, PPV, manufacturing variances and COGS impacts.
  • Analyze external manufacturing cost flows, including inventory ownership, tolling versus buy-sell arrangements, intercompany activity and legal-entity implications.
  • Develop financial models and business cases supporting supplier selection, sourcing decisions, tech transfers, capacity changes, contract modifications and lifecycle transitions.
  • Track and validate savings, cost avoidance, cash flow benefits and value realization from CMO/CDMO initiatives.
  • Partner across CMO/CDMO, External Supply Integration, Procurement, TechOps, R&D, Planning, Accounting, Legal and Finance to provide an integrated Finance perspective.
  • Improve reporting, analytics, controls and processes, increasing transparency, scalability and reducing dependency on manual or individual knowledge.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in Finance Business Partnering, manufacturing finance, supply chain, procurement, cost accounting or related areas.
  • Strong financial analysis, forecasting, modeling and business-case capabilities.
  • Exposure to product costing, inventory, manufacturing economics and external supply strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and interpret commercial contracts and supplier agreements from a Finance perspective.
  • Experience working across complex, cross-functional and matrix organizations.
  • Strong Excel skills; familiarity with SAP, planning, reporting or analytics tools preferred.

Leadership Behaviors

  • Business curiosity: seeks to understand operational, contractual and commercial drivers rather than stopping at the numbers.
  • Collaborative influence: builds trusted relationships across Finance and non-Finance teams and works effectively through a matrix.
  • Ownership and judgment: takes accountability, identifies risks early, and converts complexity into practical actions and decisions.
