In partnership with the Irish MedTech Association & IBEC our Engineering network within Pfizer Grange Castle we are seeking candidates for a Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship. This is a 3-year program combining part time learning and work placement, leading to attainment of Manufacturing Engineering Higher Cert (Level 7).
This programme includes both technical and academic content with a key focus on manufacturing. This is an opportunity to join a world class facility who is dedicated to bringing therapies that will significantly improve patients' lives.
We are looking for an apprentice maintenance technician to join our team, this role will work closely with the maintenance engineers to maintain and troubleshoot a variety of mechanical and electrical systems. The role will provide the successful applicant with a range of practical experience and great opportunity to grow and develop their skills in the field of maintenance engineering.

Role Responsibilities:
- Work in a diverse innovative supportive engineering/maintenance team.
- Assisting with repairs, preventative maintenance and calibration of automated production and area equipment.
- Working with Engineers on assigned projects and systems involving maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical systems for failures and breakdowns.
- Completing machine/Equipment adjustments and updating maintenance records and systems accurately.
- Supporting the response to equipment issues (mechanical, electrical, automation, instrumentation). This will require additional training in the use of diagnostic tools within the automation system/PLC programming software.
- Demonstrate compliance with Corporate & Government Regulatory requirements pertaining to facilities & processes.
- Actively support and implement improvements to systems and take leadership in areas of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) defect walks and CI programs.
- Maintain and support physical security and cleanliness of Facility.
- Work in a safe manner and contribute to a pro-active safety program (IIF).
- Ensuring all work conducted is performed in a safe, effective and compliant with the appropriate industry standards
- Management of equipment through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Candidate requirements:
- CAO applicants/Leaving Cert Students - minimum 160 points, Pass (Grade O6 or better) in five leaving certificate subjects, two of which must be Maths and a language (English or Irish). Leaving cert APPLIED is not suitable.
