Linux Specialist (m/f/d)

For our global remote maintenance system named Connect2U

Your are responsible for:

  • Technical support and incident management: Taking on complex tasks such as setting up e.g. Client- VPN connections. Support the system at the 2nd and 3rd level, where your technical expertise is key

  • Remote administration: Independent and autonomous administration of IT systems in our remote maintenance environment, including in-depth error analysis and troubleshooting using your technical knowledge

  • System optimisation: Implementing measures to optimise the IT infrastructure of our remote maintenance environment, based on in-depth knowledge of the relevant technologies

  • System updates and patches: Carrying out system updates and patches for various technologies and our own environment, always in close collaboration with internal and external customers and the project team

  • Cooperation and teamwork: working with product management (remote maintenance), colleagues from other departments to ensure efficient integration and maintenance of the systems

  • IT infrastructure evolution: implementing extensions and upgrades to the existing IT infrastructure, providing troubleshooting support and analysing system performance

  • Technical responsibility: taking overall technical responsibility within projects to ensure their success by applying your technical expertise

  • Regulatory: Support internal and external audits (CISO, DPO/…), e.g. by providing reports

Your profile:

  • Training and studies: You have successfully completed an apprenticeship as an IT specialist, a technical degree or have a comparable education.

  • Expertise: You have in-depth knowledge in some of the following areas or are highly motivated to learn about them:

    • Operating systems: Linux

      • LPIC-3 certificated or comparable education/knowledge

    • Databases: PostgreSQL / MySQL

    • Basic knowledge in SQL

    • knowledge in web technology

    • Knowledge in cluster systems: e.g. HA-Proxy, Linux Cluster service

    • IT networks (basic knowledge of Client and Site2Site VPN, netfilter Firewall)

    • Container: Docker

  • Reliability and customer focus: you are known for your high level of reliability and confident customer service, always with a customer- and service-oriented approach

  • Working style: you work independently and purposefully, enabling you to handle even complex tasks efficiently and successfully

  • Soft skills: You have excellent communication skills, are a strong team player and can work well under pressure, enabling you to work successfully both independently and as part of a team.

  • Language Skills:

    • English * necessary

    • and French or Italian or German
