Role Overview
We are looking for a Level Designer to create original word game levels for our Cryptogram game in German, Spanish, and/or Russian. You'll source material, construct engaging puzzles, and discuss your design decisions with the team. We're looking for a fluent language specialist with puzzle-design experience who can combine creative judgment with practical execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new word game levels for Cryptogram in German, Spanish, and/or Russian.
- Source and select appropriate quotes or text material in the relevant language for use in gameplay.
- Apply masking and puzzle-construction logic to shape each level effectively.
- Collaborate closely with the team through regular meetings, feedback sessions, and reviews.
- Help establish and refine best practices for creating levels in new languages.
- Use AI tools where helpful to support efficiency, while maintaining strong human judgment over content quality and suitability.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Fluency in at least one of the following languages: German, Spanish, or Russian.
- Bonus if you can support multiple target languages.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Strong command of language nuance, vocabulary, and phrasing in the target language(s).
- Experience in word games, puzzle creation, crossword-style thinking, writing, or language-based content design.
- Bonus if you have previous experience in word games level design.
- Understanding of what makes a word puzzle engaging, solvable, and well-balanced.
- Confidence using or learning AI tools as part of a practical content-creation workflow
