Lead Software Engineer
The Program Modernization team at MasterCard drives transformation and champions modernization across technology, risk, and service operations. We establish the foundation for scalable programs, resilient systems and control governance that empowers transformation.
The mission of the Technology Modernization team is to enable all the Mastercard programs across the organization to thrive in an evolving regulatory environment by fostering a culture of strong technology controls and effective execution. The team designs and delivers innovative, data-driven solutions that fulfill assurance obligations and regulatory requirements by proactively identifying risks, build real-time tools that leverage technology to continuously test and monitor the control environment. These capabilities enables audit-ready compliance portal for inventorying, managing, testing, and evidencing technology controls.
Role overview
The ideal candidate will have the ability to think strategically while executing tactically. This role requires ensuring ongoing compliance with security and technology control standards; as well as alignment with industry best practices. Candidates should be comfortable working across multiple programs, building scalable solutions, and lead develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with MasterCard standards, processes and best practices and with a high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.
Responsibilities include:
Successfully lead major projects and complex assignments with broad scope and long-term business implications.
Create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.
Lead day to day system development and maintenance activities of the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
Collaborate with business and technical partners to identify and scope the opportunities, outline potential value and ROI, identify risks, benefits and constraints.
Contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise.
Develop overall strategic technical plan and create architecture proposals based on identified solution gaps. As recognized subject matter expert, lead planning, design and implementation of technical solutions.
Required skills:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
10 plus of experience in related field in delivering secure solutions in Financial Services Sector is preferred
Software Engineering experience with demonstrated thought-leadership and functional influence and partnership demonstrated by a successful track record of enabling business through these technical decisions
A leader and expert in Software Engineering as with experience in related engineering disciplines
Proven ability to design / architect highly scalable applications/platforms
Proven ability in building RESTful Web APIs using ASP.NET Core.
Expertise in frontend development using jQuery, Typescript, Angular.js or similar; creating dashboards and responsive webpages
Prior experience with Multi-AZ and Cloud Native architecture and development
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to influence and partner with teams outside of the engineering organization
Proven track record of delivering large scale projects and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done
Excellent communication / presentation skills
Desired Skills:
Advance experience building API based solutions (REST APIs, APIGW, Security Access Manager)
Good understanding in DevOps, Cloud and CI/CD strategic importance (e.g., global initiatives, cross functional/cross geographies).
Demonstrates experience with PCF infrastructure supporting applications hosted in this environment.
Preferably has good understanding of directory services such as Active Directory and/or LDAP
