Lead Software Engineer - Enterprise Applications

We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to pioneer the development and evolution of our internal applications with software excellence and AI that are critical to teams across Engineering, Support, Implementation, and Customer Success. These applications help us reduce time-to-install and bring sites and cameras online more efficiently, directly impacting our operational efficiency and expansion velocity of our AI solutions globally.

You'll own the roadmap for these internal applications by treating them as products and collaborating across teams to identify and build what's needed next. You will have autonomy, executive support and will directly see the impact of your efforts on a continuous basis. You will bring an ability to influence, have an AI first mindset and a focus for collaboration, impact and metrics.

• Lead the design, build, and operation of internal applications used daily across the company to enable implementation support and QA through software.

• Innovate on how LLM’s and broader AI technologies can enhance these internal applications.

• Collaborate with our platform team on deployment tools and our computer vision team to integrate CV features into operational workflows

• Design and implement APIs that connect our various systems, creating a seamless experience for internal users and customers.

• Partner with our technical operations and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and build solutions that enable self-service and reduce ticket volume

• Gather feedback from users across teams, prioritise features, and ship iterative improvements.

• Influence across the organisation on how software and AI can further enhance technical operations can enable scale.

• Over time, own the strategic software enablement strategy for technical operations at Protex AI.

Technical

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.

• Frontend experience with React or Vue.js

• Familiarity with Cloud services and serverless architecture (e.g., AWS Lambda, IoT Core).

• An understanding of computer vision and network technologies is an advantage

Leadership

• Proven background on leading with software metrics and value first mindset.

• An innate resonance to make an impact in an autonomous yet supportive environment.

• Experience working in a scale up a distinct advantage. Or from a multinational where you clearly showed influence in moving forward a software strategy.

• Product mindset: you enjoy talking to users, understanding their workflows, and shipping pragmatic solutions

• Experience leading people is an advantage.

• Self-direction: ability to identify problems, propose solutions, and execute independently

• Strong communication skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams (including customers)
