We are looking for a highly skilled Lead AWS DevOps Engineer to be a leader our customer's AWS Team, driving transformation and innovation within their cloud infrastructure. This is a key role in migrating from a traditional hosted stack to a cloud-based environment, ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency.
You will have deep technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to challenge ideas constructively. This is not a role for a "yes person"; we need someone who can debate technical approaches, take ownership, and get things done.
Location: Dublin, Ireland. This is a hybrid role, so the successful candidate will be expected to attend the office in Dublin at least once a week.
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Lead and mentor within the DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Oversee the migration from a traditional hosted stack to a cloud-first environment.
- Define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud automation strategies using Terraform and AWS.
- Develop and enforce cloud security best practices, ensuring a highly secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex system interactions, identifying and resolving issues across networking, security, and operations.
- Optimise infrastructure costs and ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
- Drive best practices in CI/CD, automation, and DevOps tooling.
- Work closely with Development, Test, Operations, and Release teams to align infrastructure and application needs.
- Implement monitoring and observability solutions to ensure system stability and uptime.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience leading DevOps/SRE teams in AWS and cloud environments.
- Expertise in Linux, AWS, and Terraform.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
- Hands-on experience with networking, identity & access management, and cloud security.
- Ability to work across multiple systems, understanding how they interact.
- Experience in working in a Systems Admin role and showing deep understanding of tech
- A strong troubleshooting mindset—not focused on assigning blame but on solving problems.
- A self-starter who enjoys working on complex technical challenges.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
