Job Description Summary

The Key Account Manager (KAM), Haematology is responsible for managing our Haematology brands within key hospital accounts, pro-actively identifying business opportunities and recommending solutions to drive and develop business.

Accountabilities Summary:

  • Develop outstanding product and disease state knowledge and effectively educate and engage healthcare professionals in dialogue about clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety profiles to support prescribing for appropriate patients.
  • Function independently with a high account and territory management proficiency to drive sales performance, ensure sales targets and budgets are achieved or exceeded.
  • Deliver excellent territory analysis, planning and reporting skills to optimise territory performance. Demonstrated ability to utilise multiple customer engagement channels in line with AZ and customer preferences.
  • Work with, and contribute to, the cross-functional Haematology team to share market insights and advance projects.   Partner closely with Medical, Marketing and Market Access colleagues to ensure AstraZeneca’s Haematology medicines are available for all suitable patients. 
  • Develop, maintain & build on relationships with key prescribing & non prescribing Influencers.
  • Managing Territory administration - CRM, expenses, reports etc.
  • Conduct business in an ethical, compliant manner according to AZ Governance Framework & IPHA/ EfPIA Code

Essential experience:

  • Experience in Haematology or in Secondary care with a sound knowledge of key account management within a speciality care environment
  • Proven track record of sales & business management success in speciality secondary care
  • Excellent intuition for business, demonstrating good analytical, planning and interpersonal skills.
  • Self starter and effective problem solver- responsible for own actions and results
  • Strong communication and team worker
  • Proactive, solution focused, that challenges the way things have always been done
  • Solid understanding of the IPHA/ EFPIA Code

Desirable experience:

  • Experience and success ideally within breast cancer
  • Current knowledge and experience of AZ designated territory and customers
  • Experience of influencing successfully in a complex organisation
  • A flexible approach in being able to adapt as the brands develop in the market place
