G MASS are seeking an experienced Technical Programme Lead to provide oversight and leadership across a portfolio of key products and modules within a global financial services technology environment.

The role will focus on defining and driving functional and regional direction across standards, governance, and delivery frameworks, ensuring alignment with broader platform and organisational objectives. The successful candidate will oversee budgets, report key delivery metrics to senior stakeholders, and lead the planning, design, and resourcing of complex, large-scale development initiatives.

This is a senior leadership position requiring extensive experience delivering strategic technology programmes within investment management, hedge fund, or financial services environments, along with the ability to build, manage, and scale high-performing engineering or development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple development teams across business lines, locations, and technology platforms
  • Contribute to budgeting and planning, including project estimation and IT budget cycles
  • Deliver complex software projects on time, within budget, and to scope with high-quality outcomes
  • Manage P1/P2 incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and longer-term system stability improvements
  • Ensure timely closure of audit and risk items in line with compliance requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement and cross-functional process optimisation initiatives
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of development teams

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) desirable
  • 4+ years’ hands-on software development experience
  • 4+ years’ experience managing software development teams
  • AWS experience preferred
  • Experience with application server deployments (e.g., JBoss/WildFly)
  • Exposure to messaging systems such as IBM MQ
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling across cloud and on-premise environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to lead and manage large-scale projects
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as: ITIL
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall etc.)
