IT Manager (Village Roadshow Operations Greece)

About the Role

Village Roadshow (member of Antenna Group) is a leading entertainment brand, best known for its cinemas, delivering an unparalleled movie-going experience to over 3 million viewers annually.

As we continue to expand our reach and enhance our services, we are looking for a highly technical and hands-on professional to lead our development efforts and manage our key software systems and infrastructure. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, team leadership, business analysis acumen, and direct software development/support capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team & Task Leadership: Lead and mentor the IT support and development team. Distribute tasks, prioritize workloads, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of solutions and support across the organization.
  • Business Analysis & Solutions: Act as the key liaison between IT and business departments to analyze business needs, gather requirements, and translate them into actionable IT system specifications and user stories.
  • Hands-on SW Development & Customization: Directly engage in the development, modification, and maintenance of internal business applications and interfaces (e.g., reporting tools, internal APIs, custom scripts, web site) primarily using C#/.NET and SQL.
  • System Support & Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations and Tier 2/3 technical support for critical systems, including POS (Point-of-Sale) systems, internal servers, and network health.
  • Database Management: Ensure the performance, availability, and security of critical operational databases (MS SQL Server) through regular maintenance, optimization, and query review.
  • Project Execution: Manage the implementation lifecycle for system enhancements and rollouts, ensuring quality control, rigorous testing, and successful deployment within operational environments.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review existing IT processes and applications, proposing and implementing technical solutions to improve efficiency and reduce operational friction.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in IT/Software Development, with demonstrable experience in business analysis or requirement gathering.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading or mentoring a small technical team is highly desirable.
  • Mandatory strong practical experience in C#/.NET development and supporting enterprise-level applications.
  • Expertise in MS SQL Server, including advanced T-SQL scripting, performance tuning, and database administration fundamentals.
  • Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting retail or high-volume transactional POS/Ticketing systems is essential.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical concepts with business realities.
  • Fluency in both English and Greek (written and spoken).
