Job Description

About this job:

Play a crucial role in supporting the Finance & Actuarial teams and operational team’s technological needs, ensuring seamless operations and efficient workflows. This role involves integrating third-party applications and cloud services, developing, and maintaining applications as well as data interfaces, extracting, transforming, loading & reporting key financial & actuarial data that enhance productivity and streamline PartnerRe information systems.


About the role:

This role involves troubleshooting and maintaining existing dataflows and automated processes written in SQL, e.g. DataVirtuality and other ETL tools as well as developing and maintaining new web-based services and cloud-based applications. This implies to work closely with Business Analysts in order to design together the best IT solution to fulfill business requirements and includes the ability to:

  • Add new features and functionalities to existing applications & ETLs based on evolving functional needs.
  • Update and improve existing functionalities for enhanced performance and user experience.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve ETLs & software defects (bug fixes).
  • Improve ETLs & application resilience and efficiency through code optimization and architectural enhancements.
  • Perform necessary framework upgrades and address security vulnerabilities to maintain application security and compatibility.
  • Collaborate with Business Experts to understand information needs, system flows, data usage, and work processes for new software development projects.
  • Investigate problem areas and propose solutions.
  • Develop ETLs and software solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation.
  • Conduct unit and regression testing, and support user acceptance testing.
  • Prepare and document ETLs and software installations.
  • Provide second-level support for developed ETLs & applications.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, ETLs & orchestration handling a large volume of data a must.
  • Experience in Data Virtuality and Snowflake a plus.
  • .NET/C# experience, User Interface development and web-app development using MudBlazor and/or Angular
  • Experience in deploying cloud native applications, DevSecOps, and familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud environment would be a plus.
  • Ability to report on data through any reporting tool such as Power BI / BO
  • Experience in agile / SCRUM framework
  • Understanding of Finance, Reinsurance and Actuarial industry

Additional Information

Education / Further requirements

  • Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent education
  • At least 5 years of professional experience
  • Proficiency in English is a must (writing and speaking).
  • Based in Dublin
