Investment Solutions Engineering Intern  

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Investment Solutions Engineering Intern to join an experienced Investments team. Reporting directly to VP, Investment Systems Strategy and Architecture, the Investment Solutions Engineering Intern will develop AI-driven tools for market insights and reporting for use by our Core Investments and Operations team. The Investment Solutions Engineering Intern will be fully integrated into a dynamic Investment Solutions team and work with stakeholders across the investment lifecycle.  

The asset portfolio is ~$34bn in size. Investments contribute materially to the Company’s overall return and generates ~$430m of income per quarter. Working with an experienced and talented Investments team that manages ~35% of the portfolio internally, the role also offers the opportunity to interact with some of the leading asset managers across the globe. 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Support Engineering team in POCs across a variety of AI use cases leveraging various tools.  

  • Explore and evaluate commercial and open‑source AI platforms to enhance the team’s solution stack. 

  • Build AI tools that improve efficiency in investment analysis, data processing, and portfolio insights. 

  • Collaborate with engineering and investment teams to identify use cases where generative AI and automation can extend current analytical capabilities. 

  • Document architecture, workflows, and performance benchmarks to support knowledge sharing and future scaling. 

  • Participate in continuous research on emerging AI technologies relevant to financial and investment applications 

 

Candidate Skills 

  • Degree or higher in computer science, engineering, financial engineering or data with strong academic qualifications. 

  • Proficiency in Excel, plus experience with programming languages such as Python or/and R. 

  • Experience and interest in using AI tooling such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Co-Pilot. 

  • Knowledge of financial markets would be an advantage. 

  • An analytical mindset and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to take initiative, work in a team-orientated environment and unsupervised is essential. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Drive, energy, curiosity and ability to execute instructions in a fast-paced environment.
