About the Role

We’re seeking a detail-driven General Ledger Accountant to take full ownership of 2–3 European legal entities, with primary responsibility for our Italian subsidiary plus another European entity. You’ll handle everything from journal entries and reconciliations to statutory reporting and tax coordination. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role requiring both technical accounting skills and a proactive mindset.

Key Responsibilities

·       Manage the month-end close process: journal entries, accruals, intercompany, payroll, taxes, etc.

·       Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and ensure completeness of trial balances.

·       Support the preparation of Italian statutory financials (Bilancio) in collaboration with local advisors.

·       Coordinate VAT and tax compliance for Italy (F24, Esterometro, Intrastat, etc.).

·       Upload monthly trial balances to Group Consolidation System and assist with IFRS reporting.

·       Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and shared service teams.

·       Ensure internal controls and documentation are fully compliant with SOX/Group policies.

·       Identify and implement process improvements to increase close efficiency and accuracy.

What You’ll Bring

·       3+ years’ experience in GL accounting, audit, or controllership within a multinational or Big 4 environment.

·       Strong understanding of IFRS and Italian GAAP (OIC).

·       Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably Dynamics 365).

·       Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations).

·       Fluent in English, with strong Italian (B2 or higher) essential.

·       Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or Italian equivalent).

Preferred Attributes

·       Hands-on, independent, and able to own multiple ledgers.

·       Strong communicator across finance and non-finance teams.

·       Highly organized, deadline-driven, with a continuous-improvement mindset.

What We Offer

·       A chance to truly own the books for your entities.

·       Competitive salary and benefits.

·       A collaborative and supportive finance team.

·       Hybrid working model with flexibility.

·       Exposure to both Group IFRS and local statutory environments.
