This position is an initial 12 month FTC opportunity and is being recruited for in either Haywards Heath, UK or Dublin, Ireland.

Role Overview:

The Fee Governance Lead is responsible for the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of all fees and pricing held within the Medserv systems. They act as the business owner for the end-to-end fee management lifecycle, ensuring fee schedules from clients, insurers and automated scrapers are validated, updated, and maintained. The role underpins Medserv’s billing accuracy, revenue assurance, and operational efficiency across the UK and Ireland. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain all fees and pricing rules (including clinical indicators (IRL) and diagnostic codes (UKheld within ProcCode database and related systems. 
  • Ensure all Insurer and client fee schedules are accurate, up-to-date, and applied correctly across UK/IRL. 
  • Validate, approve, and publish fee updates into production systems. 
  • Ensure all fees are consistent, compliant with rules, and aligned with contractual agreements. 
  • Manage audit trails for fee changes and version control of schedules. 
  • Run periodic reconciliation checks to ensure no drift between system fee values and authoritative sources.
  • Monitor the performance of web-scraping bots used to ingest insurer fee schedules. 
  • Flag and follow up on scraper failures, changes to insurer websites, or mismatches in extracted data. 
  • Validate scraper outputs before writing to the database (human-in-the-loop control). 
  • Act as primary liaison with insurers regarding fee schedule updates and clarification queries.  
    • Implement mitigation strategies, including controls for changes, QA steps, and escalation paths. 
    • Track KPIs such as data accuracy, update SLAs, fee-related error rates, and part-paid investigations. 
    • Identify inefficiencies in fee management processes and propose improvements. 
    • Provide training and support to teams on fee processes and procedures. 
    • Suggest improvements to workflow, logic, and user experience. 
    • Define repeatable processes, SLAs and controls for how fees are managed.
    • Work with IT to resolve bugs in the fee logic, scraper logic, front-end UI, and ProcCodes behaviour. 
    • Help shape the roadmap for future fee automation and tooling. 

    Requirements and Skills:

    • Extensive experience of a medical billing system
    • Strong knowledge of client and insurer fees and pricing schedules
    • Ability to communicate and collaborate with multiple teams effectively
    • An analytical approach
    • Advanced Excel skills.
