As an in house UX team in Samsung Electronics, we are working on future innovation, and setting the strategic direction for key areas of Mobile UX. As a team, we carry a lot of influence for the future UX vison for Samsung One UI, and we focused on being at the forefront of UX innovation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative open-minded designer as we are often exploring emerging and groundbreaking areas that can offer Samsung unique opportunities to be at the forefront of Mobile experience. Our work runs from understanding user needs, to emerging trends in tech and experiences, to then developing UX concepts for sophisticated line-up and roadmap strategies.
As a team we are constantly evolving in process and output so the team and role is most suited to a designer who loves challenge and progression, and we are always looking at how members evolve and progress in their career journey. We are very collaborative and assigned project members work from start to end of a project and so get the breadth and depth of work.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

A strategic innovative interaction designer who has expertise in Ai to support the development of One UI to being natural in multi-modal interaction. Good understanding of new technologies across a roadmap to prepare for the future with the ecosystem of device experience. As an innovation role, it will establish key future AI identity to be scaled for future implementation.

  • Leading emerging Ai activities that are going towards being human like

  • Development of strategic framework building, establishing opportunities within a roadmap for future AI and interaction.

  • Work runs from setting the key UX future strategy, to creating proof of design concept.

  • Establishing AI visual identities systems for larger scale implementation.

  • Development of strategy and design development across device experience.

  • Working across different interaction methods to establish multi-modal direction.

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • BA or MA in Interaction Design, Multimedia design or related degree.

  • Industry experience working within AI

  • Experience in a design context with sound knowledge of UX design strategy process and emerging technologies.

  • Strong skills in the following software's: Figma and Adobe.

  • Knowledgeable within emerging technology and consumer electronics and experience in building future proofed roadmap strategies.

  • Experience in development from strategy to proof of concept.

  • Strong presentation skills within content development and presenting.

  • Experience of working with/within large corporations or design consultancies.

  • Have a flexible and innovative approach, challenge the status quo

  • Desire to work in a fast paced and evolving environment coupled with the ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Proven experience in planning, managing, moderating and leading visual UX projects.

  • Be a team player, building trust and cohesion within the team

What does success look like?

  • Development of Ai future roadmap strategy with actionable areas of development.

  • Ai proof of concept to take it in a future direction which is effortless and humanlike.

  • Development of Ai multi-modal interaction which considers cross device relationships.

  • Within deliverables show a clear understanding of the needs and direction of One UI.

  • Introduce new Ai trends, which showcase a vision and a direction for key development areas of One UI

  • Initiate and plan projects strategically, from inception to completion

  • Deliver actionable, clear and intelligent outcomes. Must pay attention to detail, yet be able to see the big picture and maximize work effort.

  • Be a mentor for the other team members, someone aspirational they can refer to within the expertise of Ai, interaction and future technology.
