Background:
The legal sector has entered a period of significant change driven by artificial intelligence, automation, data, new client expectations and evolving models of legal service delivery. Arthur Cox has a strong history of innovation and is committed to ensuring that technology is adopted in a practical, responsible and commercially valuable way across the firm.
The Innovation & AI team plays a central role in this agenda. Part of the firm’s Legal Tech & Innovation Services Group, the team helps the firm identify, assess, implement and scale the technologies and working practices that will support the future delivery of legal services. It owns the AI and legal technology product portfolio across its full lifecycle - from horizon scanning and opportunity assessment, through pilots, business cases, implementation and adoption, to ongoing optimisation and retirement - and leads the AI Enablement pillar of the firm’s AI strategy, including the adoption and effective use of tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Legora and AI agents. The team works closely with lawyers, Innovation Lawyers, Knowledge, Risk & Compliance, IT and firm leadership to ensure that AI and legal technology are deployed in a way that improves client service, enhances lawyer effectiveness, manages risk and supports the firm’s strategic priorities.
About the role:
We are looking to recruit a talented and experienced manager with a track record of driving innovation and delivering technology-enabled transformation in a business organisation. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to combine business process design, change management and technology - with a strong and growing emphasis on AI - to transform how the legal profession delivers legal services.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to combine business process design, change management and technology - with a strong and growing emphasis on AI - to transform how the legal profession delivers legal services.
Reporting to the Head of Innovation & AI, you will take end-to-end ownership of the delivery of assigned products, tools and initiatives across their full lifecycle: from identifying and assessing opportunities, through building the business case, running pilots and securing approval, to implementation, adoption, training and ongoing optimisation. You will play a leading role in delivering the firm’s AI Enablement agenda, including the continued rollout and effective use of platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Legora and AI agents, and you will line-manage and develop an Innovation Analyst.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to grow a career in a fast-paced and demanding professional services environment where process redesign and AI will drive major disruption over the next decade.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership for the delivery of assigned AI and legal technology products and initiatives across their full lifecycle - including horizon scanning, opportunity assessment, product shortlisting, vendor engagement, proof of concept and pilot design, go / no-go recommendations, implementation, adoption, usage monitoring, benefits tracking, optimisation and product retirement.
- Lead delivery of key elements of the AI Enablement pillar, including the adoption and effective use of Microsoft Copilot, Legora and AI agents, ensuring initiatives are delivered against a clear plan with defined priorities, governance, adoption measures and success criteria.
- Work with practice group leadership, partners and business services teams to identify and assess opportunities to apply AI, legal technology, automation, data and process improvement to change how legal services are delivered, with a strong emphasis on process redesign and process optimisation.
- Build the case for change and investment, developing clear business cases (including ROI) and securing approval and buy-in from senior stakeholders - which will require strong influencing skills.
- Plan, manage and execute projects and workstreams, including governance, scoping, planning, budgeting, resourcing and delivery.
- Manage, coach and develop junior members of the team; setting objectives, overseeing the quality of work and supporting their professional growth.
- Champion and promote the firm’s legal technology and AI solutions across the firm, becoming an SME on key products and driving practical adoption through training, demonstrations, communications and hands-on support.
- Partner with Innovation Lawyers and practice groups to identify high-value use cases and assist with embedding AI and legal technology into legal workflows in a way that is relevant, safe and sustainable.
- Work closely with colleagues in IT, Risk & Compliance and data owners to ensure that solutions are introduced and used in accordance with firm policies, regulatory requirements, professional obligations and client expectations.
- Support client-facing activity, including the preparation and delivery of pitches, tenders and client briefings where the firm’s AI, innovation or legal technology capability forms part of the proposition.
- Provide insight on legal market and technology trends, and investigate potential new solutions and technologies, to ensure the team better addresses the challenges faced by lawyers.
- Champion and foster a culture of responsible innovation, excellence and continuous improvement within the Innovation & AI team and the firm more broadly.
