About this role:

The Infra Credit platform spans all major infrastructure markets and sectors across the capital structure with $30.7bn of assets under management across Investment grade and non-investment grade strategies. The team has deployed nearly $29.0 bn of capital across 270+ assets.

The GIP team are highly experienced with extensive expertise in originating, structuring and monitoring of Infrastructure investments which generate attractive risk adjusted returns with a focus on capital preservation and income enhancement.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join the Core Portfolio Management Infrastructure Debt team supporting GIPs infrastructure credit business globally. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced team in a collaborative and friendly environment. The role serves as a key liaison between internal teams, external partners and stakeholders, driving operational excellence and supporting the firm’s growth and performance objectives.

This is a hands‑on operational role with exposure across the full investment lifecycle, from allocation assessment, deal onboarding and investment execution through to valuations, reporting, and ongoing fund and client support as well as opportunities to participate in fundraising processes.

The Associate will play a key role in driving investment execution, maintaining strong controls and scalable processes as well as having opportunities to enhance the platforms data capabilities as GIP continues to grow and launch new products.

Key Responsibilities:

Investment Process & Valuations 

  • Co-ordinate review and feedback on investment allocations and confirm adherence to Allocation Policy (e.g. investment guideline compliance, portfolio construction targets, etc.).
  • Complete pre-trade compliance checks across all portfolios and mandates to confirm potential investment does not breach any agreed terms or investment guidelines
  • Anticipate and resolve operational issues arising during the evolving investment processes (e.g., trade execution, settlement, portfolio compliance, hedging, etc.)
  • Oversight of settlement day funding with our GATS/settlements team ensuring alignment with regards to settlement mechanics and investor nuances. 
  • Work with external counterparties, namely, borrowers, advisors, sponsors to request specified documents; ensure they are provided in a timely and accurate manner
  • Integrate newly acquired portfolio assets ensuring accurate cusip set up and recording in Aladdin.
  • Assist in the co-ordination of the monthly and quarterly valuation process, working with investment teams, valuation agent and pricing teams.
  • Assist in the review of monthly/quarterly valuation outputs to ensure reasonable questioning large variance month over month.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key BlackRock/GIP operational professionals (e.g., legal, tax, trading operations, portfolio compliance, pricing, cash ops, bank loans, derivative operations and fund administration).
  • Deal management / reporting
  • Review monthly and quarterly client reporting ensuring accuracy and consistency and providing feedback to ACP team accordingly.
  • Ensure full and timely compliance with relevant regulatory reporting.
  • Assist in the provision of management information to senior management stakeholders
  • Enhance reporting quality and efficiency by improving Power BI dashboards and reducing manual workloads across the platform.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of board reports
  • Apply AI to streamline reporting and documentation i.e. for drafting of routine investor reports, extraction of key data from documentation to speed up processes etc.
  • Support responses to ad-hoc client and internal data requests including investor specific reporting, liquidity analysis and operational queries.
  • Assist in reviewing operational implementation of side letters and client specific report obligations.
  • Contribute to the smooth operational launch of new strategies and accounts partnering closely with senior core pm team members.

Cash management

  • Monitor liquidity for all private funds, including cash forecasting, borrowing capability, and dry powder.
  • Co-ordination of investor capital calls and finance drawdowns to ensure funding requirements are met.
  • Co-ordination of distributions from fund to investors.
  • Oversee the payables process where necessary.
  • Oversee the ongoing management of subscription lines and leverage facilities to ensure they are used optimally.
  • Partner with GATS, NAVO, asset management and investment team to ensure correct booking of interest payments, repayments of capital, and fee collection from underlying investments and through portfolio/fund structure

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Identify opportunities to improve, standardize and automate operational processes helping reduce manual effort and operational risk, considering AI to assist where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the documentation of procedures, controls and best practices as the platform continues to scale.
  • Participate in cross-team initiatives aimed at strengthening Core PM’s operating model and integration within the broader BlackRock/GIP ecosystem.

Candidate Profile (indicative):

  • Ideally qualified or part qualified accountant.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, business management or
  • related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with ability to operate with modest oversight.
  • Comfortable working across teams and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset with an interest in improving processes and building scalable solutions. 
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including

knowledge of advanced functions.

  • Interest in infrastructure investments and complex fund structures. 
  • Experience in Python, SQL, Aladdin Software and Power BI will be viewed positively, but not required.
