Job Description

Infrastructure Advisory Lead

AECOM are seeking a leader to drive the growth of our advisory practice in Ireland. With a unique blend of strategic and technical advisory services, underpinned by the wealth of global experience in major project and programme delivery, AECOM’s advisory proposition is well-placed to support clients solve their most complex challenges.

We deliver to clients through three service lines: asset advisory, infrastructure advisory and management consultancy. The types of projects we deliver include optimising the performance of real estate portfolios, developing operating models and advising on the optimum procurement and contracting strategies for major projects and programmes. A key focus of all aspects of our offering is helping clients bring strategies to life, with a focus on effective change management and transformation.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic and ambitious, have deep experience working on major projects and programmes, strong client connections, and a broad advisory skillset. As the lead for advisory across Ireland and Northern Ireland, your role will be to develop opportunities with AECOM’s key clients leading to the growth a local advisory practice. You will work closely with our service line leads, who are currently UK-based.

AECOM’s key clients in region span across the aviation, energy, government, rail, road and water sectors.

The role can be based anywhere in Ireland, however there will be a requirement for some travel, including occasional trips to the UK.   

Key responsibilities of the role:

As part of the UK&I Advisory Services leadership team, you will be responsible for growing an advisory practice providing services to clients in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Our aim is to increase the size of the UK&I team by 65% in the next three years.

  • Lead on work winning activities, including client engagement to securing leads, and developing winning proposals.
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality advisory projects to AECOM’s key clients in Ireland.
  • Collaborate with Advisory Services’ discipline leads based in the UK through sharing of resources and localisation of the service proposition.
  • Lead recruitment activity to grow our advisory team in Ireland.
  • Provide leadership to the team, including people development.

Desirable knowledge and expertise

Candidates will be expected to possess the following knowledge and expertise:

  • Proven ability in leading and growing consultancy teams. 
  • Ambitious, driven, and up for a challenge!
  • In-depth knowledge of the infrastructure sector in Ireland and Northern Ireland
  • Strong relationships with key client organisations in Ireland, and well connected across the wider industry.
  • Successful track record in work winning.
  • Experience in leading, managing and developing teams in a consultancy environment
  • Excellent leadership skills – promotes an inclusive team culture and takes a proactive approach to solving client challenges.
  • Technical expertise in a relevant discipline which could include asset advisory, infrastructure advisory, management consultancy or change and transformation management.
  • Strong experience of delivering advisory projects across a broad range of projects
  • Highly collaborative, proficient leading and working in multi-disciplinary project environment.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree, for example, in business, engineering or science
