As part of this exciting role, you will lead comprehensive impact assessments and oversee innovative groundwater monitoring programs. You will have the opportunity to analyse critical water quality and quantity data to inform strategic decisions.
Collaborating closely with clients, multidisciplinary team and regulatory bodies, you’ll drive projects from planning and tender preparation through to on-site supervision, ensuring every step aligns with environmental legislation and industry best practices.

You will:
- Conduct hydrological and hydrogeological impact assessments.
- Collect, analyse and interpret groundwater quality and quantity data.
- Develop, implement and manage groundwater monitoring programmes.
- Prepare Water Framework Directive (WFD), Groundwater Dependent Terrestrial Ecosystem (GWDTE) and hydrogeological risk assessments.
- Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and regulatory submissions.
- Undertake site visits, field investigations and technical assessments.
- Prepare factual and interpretative desk studies, site investigation reports and conceptual site models.
- Interpret hydrogeological data and prepare high-quality technical reports.
- Support the design, implementation and interpretation of site investigations.
- Collaborate with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Assist with project scoping, planning, programming and delivery.
- Support tender opportunities and preparation of fee proposals.
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation and industry standards while remaining up to date with emerging technologies and regulations.

Qualifications- Relevant professional experience in hydrology / hydrogeology
- Minimum Level 8 BSc/MSc in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (e.g., with the Geological Society or CIWEM)
- Experience with groundwater sampling, drilling supervision, or flood risk desirable
- Proven experience managing complex groundwater assessments and environmental impact projects
- Strong knowledge of Irish/EU water and environmental legislation
- Proficient in hydrogeological modelling tools, GIS, and data analysis
