St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin is Diageo's largest manufacturing facility in Ireland, and the largest stout brewery in the world, producing over three million pints of Guinness every day, supplying a growing Irish and UK market, and exporting to 90 global markets.

About the Role:

The Beer Category is a successful organisation working with the brand and commercial teams to establish the brand priorities and innovation pipeline and delivering breakout growth in our exciting Beer portfolio.

We are looking for an agile, connected, and accountable partner to the leadership team supporting the St James’s Gate brewery enabling growth and performance through outstanding delivery of our Global HR Strategy. As Business Partners, our role is to ensure we have the right conditions in place to develop and release the potential of our talent, our leaders, and their teams. We are there to challenge and support in equal measure; to help strategically shape the future organisation to deliver the biggest possible performance outcomes.

In addition, the role holder will be an integral part of the wider team, working with the Beer Category and Global Supply Chain & Procurement.

Key Accountabilities:

Partner with the functional leadership teams to build and deliver ambitious and innovative talent plans which include robust organisational planning to future proof the business, resourcing for our biggest opportunities at pace, identifying a strong proactive pipeline of talent, and creating exciting, accelerated career paths for people which accelerate their development. This will include ongoing collaboration with Category and Function HR BPs across Global Supply Chain & Procurement.

Own the Organisation Effectiveness agenda for St James’s Gate and contribute to the broader plan for the Beer Category – using data and analytics to create solutions that result in impactful and innovative performance, delivers cost efficiencies and injects the right reinvestments.

Drive an inclusion and diversity agenda specific to the site across all HR levers (talent, reward, culture, learning, etc) that creates an inclusive culture where each employee feels valued for their uniqueness and are able to enhance their impact.

Support the development of successful teams, coaching line managers to create an agile, stretching, and focused performance culture to enable outstanding performance and fulfilling employee experiences collaborating with HR shared service teams and our Centres of Excellence.

Instill a continuous learning culture throughout the organisation ensuring employees have access to stretching experiences and great learning content that fuels constant growth in their capabilities and our business performance. Partner Global Capabilities and Site Capability Manager in pursuit of this.

Enable the ongoing culture transformation within the Category, supporting and challenging leaders to embrace agility and speed, and driving accountability for bold and confident decision making.

Co-own HR collaboration across the operating model so that we deliver aligned plans which complement and support the ambition to bring value through speed, agility and innovation in categories from an end-to-end perspective.

Experience:

  • You will have highly developed curiosity to understand what drives the business and how the varying agendas across each function contribute towards driving the market forward, enabling the leaders to be able to make valuable contributions through seeing each scenario through the lens of both the business objective and the people agenda.
  • You will demonstrate successful collaboration and influencing across a variety of partners at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes.
  • You will have a curious attitude and a desire to continuously improve HR delivery, harnessing innovation, and technology to exceed our customer expectations.
  • You will need experience in ER and IR
  • You will seek and create a culture of collaboration and excellence, removing duplication and championing efficiency and simplification.
  • You are highly conceptual - able to join the dots and paint a picture that makes sense and influences the business.
  • You have a deep understanding of organisational design principles and how to create principles for each function to drive growth/ functional progression.
  • You have strong change and project management skills (including influencing change).
  • You can build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respect.
  • You demonstrate excellent talent judgement – possessing the ability to assess talent gaps, and suggest actions needed to strengthen succession plans and talent pipelines.
  • You excel when dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and matrixed environment.
  • You understand and drive insights from HR data; analysing to measure impacts, diagnose trends and connect with business performance outcomes.
  • Experience working in a unionised environment is extremely desirable.
