Job Description Summary

The Head Product, Project Management & International Lead, RLT is responsible for the End-to-end Product Management of the RLT portfolio including business partnering with key stakeholders within the organization; e.g. Commercial Operations Units in Novartis Pharma and TRD.
The associate will be responsible for defining and implementing the RLT strategy and translating, monitoring and governing strategic decisions into programs / projects in alignment with the strategic pillars of Novartis, in order to achieve a competitive advantage in all aspects of Technical Operations. Responsible for overseeing day to day supply in International markets, serving as a point of escalation and resolution for urgent issues. Wil be a member of the International RLT LT. Champions the Novartis Values & Behaviors and acts as a role model of leadership to foster an inclusive and high performing culture, which develops capability and talents.


 

Job Description

Major Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement the long-term RLT strategy and transformation, which encompasses, site missions, transformations, site closures, site divestments and integration of new sites and businesses
  • Ensure efficient and effective (Supply Chain) Business Partnering between Commercial Operations, TRD, and Novartis Technology Operations End-to-end product responsibility for RLT, including internal and external stakeholder management as well as product / market transfers to ensure global business continuity and global network / capacity utilization optimization.
  • Defines and executes the Product Supply Strategy, Life Cycle management strategy, Risk management and the Product roadmap that leads to cost efficiency, supply optimisation, continuous improvement for the Business unit
  • Defines and executes projects related to customer experience enhancements in conjunction with commercial colleagues
  • Responsible for the management of escalation for potential supply issues and ensuring appropriate mitigating actions (including bottleneck management, product allocation, etc.) are implemented, in collaboration with other SC LT members, commercial operations and Platforms to ensure no patient impact
  • Lead Portfolio & Product Management across RLT assortment (including supply risk management & TPC roadmaps)
  • Support Portions of the S&OP processes to support cross-functional management decisions
  • Ensure launch oversight in connection with global launch process
  • Assist in the launch of new products by using a design-to-value approach that integrates consumer needs, competitive intelligence, and supplier insights into the supply chain, as well as minimize finished goods and product obsolescence
  • Act as interface to Operations Centers to ensure project management services for RLT  and steer execution as part of the platform governance
  • Provides support to TRD collaboration projects, including new technology & production concepts and enables implementation of new products from development pipeline.
  • Act as representative and overall business interface to Commercial Divisions
  • Ensure and guide development of BC management processes within RLT consisting of operation planning & control, key business process inventory, business impact analysis and training / business continuity strategies and plans/ exercising of BC plans in alignment with NO-wide guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain project governance across RLT to ensure execution in line with the unit’s long-term objectives.
  • Translates strategy into business projects, suggest and coordinate these through continuous improvements
  • Act as deputy for the Global Head Supply Chain RLT for International, and occasionally global matters
  • Support NO M&A and BD&L processes and transactions (M&A / Integration & Separation project management via service model from Operations & Strategy)
  • Support the Digital agenda of the network and lead various integrations programs impacting supply chain end to end processes
  • Accountable for supply point allocation process in RLT by ensuring timely decisions and complete evaluations.
  • Support the Strat Plan process for RLT in alignment with the wider organization
  • Provide critical management support and facilitation for project requirements in complex, multi-tiered, global business environment
  • Ensure compliance of project management organization with global processes and tools
  • A champion of the Novartis Values & Behaviors and acts as a role-model of leadership that fosters an inclusive and high performing culture which develops capability and talents
  • Network effectively across Novartis and wider industry forums to identify future opportunities for collaboration and to Identify and leverage best practices across the function
  • Build a High Performing Organization by ensuring the development, availability of talents and succession plans

Obligatory requirements:

  • Education: University master degree in economic/business or technical discipline, science or medicine. Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience: · Minimum 10 years of working experience in local, regional and global functions with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical Industry in a leadership position
  • Some years’ experience in Business Administration, Commercial Operations, Business Process Analysis and Transformation /Re-engineering (e.g., as a Consult-ant) desirable
  • Experience in areas such as BD&L would be desirable to support the activities
  • Excellent and proven senior leadership skills in various cultural and diverse environments
  • Consolidated supply chain, strategy and financial background
  • Proven business acumen, judgement and track record of successfully leading cross divisional and cross functional strategic projects
  • Leadership and strong influencing skills across all stakeholder groups
  • Proven track record in successfully managing complex transformations, integra-tions and change management · Ability to work and thrive in highly ambiguous environments with ever-changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills (problem structuring and problem solving), able to han-dle complex analyses · Maturity, confidence, high degree of emotional intelligence with demonstrated empathy ability to influence others
  • APICS CPIM preferred / APICS CSCP preferred
  • Languages: English - fluent written and spoken
