About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

We are seeking an experienced recruiting leader to build and scale our International Recruiting function during a period of significant global expansion. In this role, you will develop and implement comprehensive recruiting strategies that span APAC and EMEA markets, while building out world-class teams across all functions. You will partner closely with our Head of International and regional leaders to establish recruiting operations from the ground up, serving as a cultural bridge between our US headquarters and international offices. This position requires someone who can operate at multiple altitudes - from crafting regional talent strategies to hands-on execution of senior leadership searches.

This role will report to the Head of Global Talent.

Responsibilities
  • Build and lead our International Recruiting function from the ground up, creating scalable processes and infrastructure for recruiting across APAC and EMEA regions
  • Manage a team of recruiters responsible for all functions (G&A/Core Functions, GTM, and Tech) across international markets, while maintaining dotted-line relationships with global recruiting leads in the US
  • Partner closely with the Head of International and regional/country leads to develop localized talent acquisition strategies that align with business objectives
  • Navigate complex international regulatory environments, ensuring full compliance with regional and local employment laws across all markets
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador, bridging US headquarters with international offices and facilitating cross-cultural collaboration
  • Drive executive-level searches including regional "Head of" positions and other senior leadership roles across multiple functions
  • Create and implement recruiting strategies that leverage local market insights while maintaining global consistency in hiring standards
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional partners including HR, Legal, Finance, and global recruiting peers across multiple time zones
  • Establish metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems to measure recruiting effectiveness and provide strategic insights to leadership
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within international markets while respecting local cultural contexts
You may be a good fit if you
  • Have 12+ years of recruiting experience with at least 5+ years leading recruiting teams, preferably in international or multi-regional environments
  • Have proven experience building recruiting functions from the ground up in new geographic markets
  • Demonstrate expertise across all recruiting domains (G&A, GTM, Tech) with the ability to recruit for various functions and levels
  • Have a strong understanding of international labor laws, compliance requirements, and employment regulations across multiple regions
  • Excel at managing and collaborating across time zones with exceptional cross-cultural communication skills
  • Can operate strategically at leadership level while maintaining ability to execute hands-on recruiting for senior positions
  • Show proven track record of being an effective business partner to HR, Legal, Finance, and other key stakeholders
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Demonstrate success in serving as a cultural bridge between headquarters and regional offices
Strong candidates may also
  • Speak multiple languages, particularly those relevant to APAC or EMEA markets
  • Have lived and worked in multiple countries or regions
  • Have established networks in key international talent markets
  • Demonstrate success in building employer brand presence in new geographic markets

Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The expected salary range for this position is:

Annual Salary:
€205.000€250.000 EUR
Logistics

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed.  Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Come work with us!

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
