The Head of Accounts will lead the accounting department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, overseeing financial reporting, and managing audit processes.
Job Summary:
Our client, who is a manufacturing company, is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Head of Accounts to lead their accounting department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with proven expertise in financial reporting, auditing, and tax compliance. This role requires an individual with excellent leadership skills to oversee the department while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor company cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the company's directors.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring smooth audit processes and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Manage tax planning and compliance, including accurate filing of VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Implement strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing support and development opportunities.
- Supervise daily accounting functions such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial data with overall company goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,
or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA/ACCA certification is an added
advantage).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in
accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzania’s financial
regulations, tax laws, and audit processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and
financial reporting tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and
problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet
tight deadlines.
