As part of TD Securities Global Operations and Business Services, Corporate Lending and Trade Finance Operations provides end-to-end operational support for a broad portfolio of corporate lending and trade finance activities. The team supports bilateral and syndicated lending, letters of credit, guarantees, documentary collections and related trade products, while delivering strong client experience and maintaining a disciplined focus on risk management, operational excellence and effective partnership across internal and external stakeholders.

About this Role:

  • Lead a team of operations professionals responsible for servicing a portfolio of corporate lending and trade finance transactions, ensuring accurate and timely execution across bilateral and syndicated loans, letters of credit, guarantees, documentary collections and related products.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across end-to-end corporate lending and trade finance operations, including loan lifecycle management, lending platform knowledge such as LoanIQ, documentation review, client record maintenance, lifecycle events, reconciliations, letters of credit, guarantees, documentary collections, exception management, AML due diligence, and support for non-standard or high-risk transactions.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities to ensure service level commitments, quality standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements are consistently met while balancing risk, control and client expectations.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex, non-standard or high-risk matters, exercising sound judgment and partnering with internal teams, clients, legal, compliance and external counterparties to support timely resolution.
  • Monitor workflow, team capacity and transaction volumes, reallocating work as needed and identifying opportunities to strengthen efficiency, controls and consistency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, serving as a key point of contact for lending and trade-related operational matters and supporting an integrated client experience.
  • Lead, coach and develop employees by setting clear expectations, providing ongoing feedback, identifying development opportunities and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Support strategic and operational initiatives that enhance automation, simplify processes, strengthen audit and compliance readiness, and reinforce a one-team approach across Corporate Lending and Trade Finance.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in end-to-end corporate lending and/or trade finance operations, including loan lifecycle management, lending platforms such as LoanIQ, documentation, controls, processes and procedures.
  • Proven people leadership experience, or equivalent operational leadership, within a high-volume environment requiring strong operational, financial and regulatory controls.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, compliance and control requirements, with the ability to identify issues, assess impacts and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complexity, manage competing priorities and deliver consistent service to clients and business partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • Proactive approach to strengthening controls, improving efficiency and supporting process optimization, automation and simplification.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • University degree or equivalent required; finance, accounting or trade finance-related accreditation is considered an asset, including credentials such as CDCS and/or CSDG.
