About the role

What you need to know:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Underwriting Specialist to join the Personal Auto team.

In this role you will:

  • Work collaboratively within the underwriting team and with all stakeholders in our direct motor team to provide excellence in service and support the execution of business strategy.
  • Underwrite a suite of motor insurance products under the direction of the underwriting team in compliance with risk appetite and underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to all underwriting and governance policies, service level agreements, guidelines and procedures through robust referral and renewal management.
  • Contribute to product development and project work including product testing that supports business growth.
  • Contribute and proactively engage in all departmental meetings including minute-taking and presenting data.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and industry regulations.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn through on-the-job training and collaborating with peers, management and mentors to support your career development.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong communication (oral and written) and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments.
  • A disciplined team player with excellent time management skills that is motivated to succeed.
  • A positive mindset and open to learning and new challenges.
  • Strong ability to work with different sources of information and big quantity of data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with experience in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau considered an advantage
  • 3rd level qualification (minimum 2.1) in a relevant business, finance or related discipline.
