The annual goal of this role is to implement and operate consistent global data protection practices, policies, and services using Rubrik Enterprise Edition. The role holder will strengthen backup, recovery, cyber resilience, and governance while improving automation, assurance, and operational maturity. Success is measured by policy compliance, protection coverage, recovery readiness, service reliability, reduced data-loss risk, and demonstrable achievement of recovery objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement, administer, and improve Rubrik Enterprise Edition globally, including configuration, upgrades, capacity, health, security, and lifecycle management.
- Define and enforce global data protection policies, SLA domains, retention standards, archival, replication, immutability, access controls, and encryption requirements.
- Translate business, regulatory, contractual, and risk requirements into protection tiers, recovery point objectives, recovery time objectives, and operating procedures.
- Onboard workloads to the protection service and maintain accurate coverage across supported on-premises, cloud, virtual, database, and application environments.
- Operate and monitor backup, replication, archival, and recovery; resolve job failures, capacity constraints, policy exceptions, and performance issues.
- Plan and execute restore tests, disaster recovery exercises, and readiness reviews, maintaining evidence that recovery objectives and controls are met.
- Support cyber recovery and ransomware resilience, including anomaly investigation, clean recovery planning, privileged-access controls, and coordination with security and incident response teams.
- Establish procedures, runbooks, standards, and governance for data protection services, and drive consistent adoption across regions and technology teams.
- Respond to data protection incidents and service degradation, lead technical troubleshooting, and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions.
- Automate operations, compliance checks, reporting, and workflows using Rubrik APIs and appropriate scripting or orchestration tools.
- Report on protection coverage, recoverability, policy compliance, capacity, platform risk, and operational performance.
- Work closely with infrastructure, cloud, database, application, security, risk, and business continuity teams; participate in a shared on-call rota for critical production services.
Experience / Qualifications Required
- Strong experience engineering and operating enterprise-scale backup, recovery, and data protection services. - Essential
- Strong hands-on production experience with Rubrik Enterprise Edition. - Essential
- Current Rubrik Certified System Administrator (RCSA) certification is required. Rubrik Certified Engineer (RCE), Rubrik Certified Cloud Specialist (RCCS), or Rubrik Partner Black Belt is strongly preferred.
- Equivalent current Rubrik credentials demonstrating advanced implementation, cloud-protection, or cyber-recovery expertise will also be considered.
- Experience designing and implementing global data protection policies, standards, and operating models. - Essential
- Strong understanding of retention, immutability, encryption, access control, RPO, RTO, and recovery validation. - Essential
- Experience supporting disaster recovery, cyber recovery, or ransomware-resilience capabilities. - Essential
- Proven troubleshooting skills and experience working within incident, change, and problem management processes. - Essential
- Experience supporting production services in a 24x7 or on-call environment. - Essential
- Experience protecting VMware, Nutanix, Windows, Linux, database, and cloud workloads. - Preferred
- Experience using APIs, scripting, or automation tooling to operate data protection services at scale. - Preferred
- Experience supporting audit, risk, compliance, and customer assurance activities. - Preferred
