Overview:

Wilmington Trust is looking to recruit an intern for the Strategic Implementation team for a 12 month placement. This internship is aimed at undergraduates enrolled in a sandwich course with a year in industry. The Interns will complete a 12 month internship centered around professional development, career growth and building the necessary skills to succeed.  The Interns will participate in projects and department initiatives that accelerate career growth and play an important role in building the future of the Bank.  As an Intern, you will gain exposure to other departments through guest speakers and industry leaders and a built-in network with peers as well as priority consideration for full time opportunities throughout the Bank.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complete duties and responsibilities of an entry-level professional nature specific to assigned area of the Bank.
  • Ensure activities adhere to established internal policies and external regulations as applicable. 
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
