The Job in short
Build the platform that helps banks better engage with their customers through user-centered experiences — using the latest technologies, built for scale.
Meet the job
At Backbase, you’ll join one of our multicultural, multi-disciplinary teams to shape and build our new internal information portal — used daily by all Backbasers, customers, and partners.
Our internal product suite is rapidly evolving with an ambitious roadmap, and we’re now investing heavily in AI to enhance our platform. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Fullstack Engineer who’s excited to build scalable, user-centered solutions using modern technologies. You’ll work primarily with Angular 17+, React, TypeScript, NestJS, and occasionally Python to support our AI-driven features.
Here’s what you’ll get to do:
- Write clean, testable, maintainable code that works across browsers and devices;
- Collaborate in a cross-functional team that owns the entire software development lifecycle — from analysis and design through to implementation and delivery;
- Take full ownership of features: from crafting intuitive front-end experiences to building robust back-end services and managing data persistence;
- Write unit tests to ensure components are secure, reliable, and user-friendly;
- Help re-architect our platform and define the technical strategy to scale and drive adoption;
- Experiment with new tools, languages, and workflows — especially in the AI space;
- Re-architect our platform and create the strategy to drive its growth and adoption;
- Experiment with new tools, languages, and workflows – a perk for those who enjoy exploring new technologies (like AI).
How about you
If you're excited by the idea of building innovative internal products, pushing technical boundaries, and redefining how banks engage with users — while still enjoying a steady work-life balance — you’re in the right place.
We’re not building things just for the sake of it. We’re solving real needs with real impact — and we’re looking for someone just as passionate.
You’ll thrive in this role if:
- You have strong Angular (we use Angular 17) and TypeScript skills; React experience is a bonus;
- You’re comfortable working with RxJS and understand common design patterns;
- You have back-end experience with Node.js and frameworks like NestJS;
- You’re familiar with unit testing frameworks like Jest or Jasmine;
- You know how to manage effective CI/CD processes in a modular architecture (builds, pipelines, branching strategies, etc.);
- You’ve worked with Docker and Linux environments;
- You can clearly communicate implementation scenarios, risks, and trade-offs with your team.
