The Company
At AccountsIQ, we’re on a mission to deeply understand our customers and deliver technology that enriches their lives. We provide smart, feature-rich financial management software designed for ambitious businesses that have outgrown basic starter systems or seek a simpler, more affordable alternative to complex, costly ERP solutions. Our cloud-based accounting software transforms the finance function, making it easier for multi-entity businesses to capture, process, and report their financial data with ease and efficiency.

The Role

This Front-End Engineer role has been created due to continued growth and reports to the Director of Engineering. It sits within a fast-paced, product-led SaaS environment and works closely with an international engineering team. The role focuses on designing, building, and evolving the front end of the product. It contributes to delivering high-quality, innovative software to a high engineering standard. The role operates within cross-functional product squads using Scrum, where collaboration and shared ownership are central.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building new front-end features and continuously improving existing functionality as part of a product-focused engineering squad.
  • Collaborating closely with designers and fellow engineers to deliver intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
  • Contributing to shared ownership of the application’s architecture and technical direction.
  • Working effectively in an agile, distributed environment with both on-site and remote colleagues.
  • Supporting and learning from other engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Be involved across the full development lifecycle, from design and implementation through to testing and release.
  • Working across a modern tech stack, primarily focused on front-end development, with some exposure to backend technologies.
  • Reviewing code, participating in retrospectives and post-mortems, and actively contributing to continuous improvement within a cross-cultural team.

What you’ll need:

  • You’ll have at least 3 years’ hands-on experience building modern front ends using technologies such as Vue.js (or React), alongside strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
  • You’re curious about new technologies and enjoy thoughtfully applying them to improve existing systems.
  • You’re comfortable writing modern, maintainable CSS. Familiarity with design systems or using design tokens is a bonus.
  • You have a solid understanding of HTTP and REST APIs and how front ends integrate with backend services.
  • Experience or interest in working with a component-driven development approach, building and validating reusable UI components in isolation using tools such as Storybook. Familiarity with interactive component tests, JavaScript unit tests, end-to-end testing tools like Playwright, and API mocking tools such as Mock Service Worker (MSW) is welcome but not required.
  • A good understanding of browser fundamentals and platform features, including common browser APIs, client-side storage options, and when these are appropriate to use.
  • An interest in front-end performance, with some experience using browser developer tools (including the Performance tab) to investigate and reason about rendering, scripting, and network-related performance issues.

What's the hiring process?

  1. An initial call with our People team to discuss your application.
  2. A one-way video interview, structured and reviewed manually by the hiring manager.
  3. A technical interview with the hiring team, consisting of a live coding exercise.
  4. A final interview with our CTO.
