At Flipdish, we’re turning the tables in favour of independent restaurant and takeaway owners by providing them with the tools they need to make their lives easier. We offer a suite of powerful yet straightforward tech solutions along with real human support, helping our customers thrive on their own terms.

Everything we do is designed to make running a restaurant satisfyingly simple in a world that’s anything but.

About the Role

We are hiring a Financial Accountant to join the Finance team at Flipdish. This is a key role supporting a high-performing finance function in a fast-moving, multi-entity environment. You will take ownership of defined month-end workstreams, strengthen financial control, and help improve how we close, reconcile, and report as the business scales.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of technical accounting, operational finance, and practical process improvement, with the support of an experienced team.

What You Will Do
  • Own defined month-end close activities across one or more entities, ensuring journals, schedules, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation, and contribute to month-end review commentary where required.
  • Support group reporting requirements, including consolidation preparation and intercompany processes (depending on the close cycle and priorities).
  • Assist with audit and statutory processes, including preparing supporting files, responding to queries, and helping build high-quality year-end packs.
  • Support compliance activities across tax, regulatory, and statutory filings, including preparation of information and first drafts where appropriate.
  • Help review, document, and improve finance policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure they remain robust and scalable.
  • Contribute to improving finance systems and workflows, including automation of recurring close tasks and support for future tooling/ERP improvements.
  • Partner with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to resolve queries efficiently and to continuously improve the quality of financial information.
  • Provide analysis and insights that support cost management and good decision-making, including variance analysis and investigation of unusual movements.
  • Support ad hoc projects as needed, including preparation of information for grants or other finance submissions.

Working pattern: Hybrid, with 2 days per week in our Sandyford office

Candidate Profile

What we are looking for:

  • Newly qualified or recently qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent relevant experience in industry).
  • Strong technical fundamentals and a clear understanding of balance sheet control and reconciliations.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Highly organised, with a track record of following through and raising issues early when something looks off.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, well-supported work.
  • Clear communicator and collaborative team player who works well across functions.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets.
What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days
  • You can independently deliver your assigned month-end workstreams to agreed deadlines with clean backup and minimal rework.
  • You have built strong working relationships across Finance and key stakeholders.
  • You have improved at least one recurring close or reconciliation task through better documentation, a clearer process, or automation.
