Our finance professionals play an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. They deliver significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, funding and capital structure to honor our commitments to our stakeholders. They inform the decisions of AIG executives and comply with regulatory requirements, maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information. Within the Finance team, the Treasury and Capital Markets group handles Treasury Department activities and funding the overall capital structure of AIG and investor relations. The Actuarial and Value Management team manages rating agency relations. The Finance Operations team handles controllership activities, including Security & Exchange Commission reporting and tax.
About the role
Reporting to the Finance Lead, this position will work with the global teams involved in building, operationalizing and governing intercompany expense processes with (AIG Operations) regional leaders, third party leaders and global process leaders.
What you need to know:
Finance Transformation Project Leader for Finance Operations
Strategic Thought Leader:
Strategic Planning: Align project initiatives with company goals, providing insights to senior stakeholders (e.g., CFO, Program Directors).
Drive process insights and improvements, leveraging established frameworks and tools
Commercial mindset, focusing on costs, benefits, returns
Ability to prioritise, risk assess, focus on key impact and outcomes
Flexible and agile in response to dynamic business environments
Improve stakeholder-operating teams’ understanding of financial impacts by providing thoughtful and transparent analysis
Vendor/Supplier Management: Oversee SOWs (Statements of Work), procurement, and align third-party deliverables with finance teams
Senior management approval for implementation, contract signing, managing relationship with external vendor, liaising with multi-functional stakeholders for support and input, providing guidance on project approach, and addressing any potential roadblocks
Comfortable transiting out of Excel and PowerPoint, into an integrated planning model execution and governance
Execution Focused Delivery Leader:
Financial Control & Reporting: Lead project financial tracking, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget).
Governance & Standardization: Establish and enforce PMO processes, frameworks, templates, and best practices across the portfolio.
Project Governance: Oversee project delivery milestones, RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions), and change management.
Resource & Capability Planning: Manage capacity planning, team allocation, and cost tracking for project teams.
Develop analytics and presentation materials to provide senior management transparency into the functional and process financial trends and impacts
Establish and drive financial governance while function or process integration
Lead initiatives from concept through execution as a thought leader and a project manager to ensure successful and timely delivery.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline
Significant experience in progressive accounting and / or finance
Experience in the areas of strategic planning, budgeting, reporting and profitability analysis.
Extensive experience in driving initiatives through to completion
Effective written & oral communication skills, influencing skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and management to deliver objectives
Strong knowledge of financial analytics and KPI metrics
Strong quantitative and modeling skills
