Position DescriptionAs the role of data in finance continues to increase, Lilly is expanding our capabilities in the space to support Finance Forward. The Finance Data Analyst will oversee Finance data and systems in GBS Financial Operations (Fin Ops). The data analyst will serve as the primary point of contact for what data is available, how to access, and how to use for Fin Ops, ensuring alignment between business priorities and enterprise data strategy. The role will partner closely with the central data management team to achieve fast results through data ingestion, modeling, and governance initiatives. In addition, the role will be the local champion for tech upskilling in the area. Success in this role means that Fin Ops can access trusted data quickly, perform analysis confidently, and make data-driven decisions aligned with Lilly’s Finance Forward vision.
Key Objectives/ ResponsibilitiesDevelop and provide expertise in Fin Ops data domains: data relationships, data quality, understanding of data needs and the associated technology toolsets and methodologies.
Execute and monitor operations tasks to ensure timely availability of data in a reporting / dashboard structure to the business.
Perform thorough data validations to ensure data quality
Respond to queries from internal stakeholders
Consistently meet operations SLAs
Perform incident resolution and root cause analysis to support data and reporting operations
Assess data gaps, define requirements, and guide the roadmap for data capabilities that address current priorities while building for the future. Execute strategy for managing the lifecycle of Fin Ops data
Influence the adoption of data lifecycle management strategy for Fin Ops
Leverage Descriptive analytics and visualization to provide data-based insights on planning, execution and outcomes
Ensure alignment with global innovation roadmaps and cross-functional teams including representation on the Functional Data Champions.
Foster an innovation culture and build capabilities across Fin Ops teams.
Demonstrate deep understanding of information and material flows, processes, procedures, systems, and methods
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously drive innovation.
Promote adoption of the finance data lake to serve data needs
Identify new data sources needed to improve financial analysis and partner with data strategy team to make data available
Serve as upskilling and ARTIE champion for Fin Ops
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
Experience of work in data and or analytics
Proficiency in data analysis tools, SAP, and digital capabilities (PowerBI, Power Automate).
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience in finance or in support of finance area
Understanding of or experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Demonstrated high learning agility with excellent analytical skills.
Excellent prioritization skills with attention to detail.
Strong collaboration skills and an ability to bridge technical and business process
Strategic thinking with the ability to identify viable alternatives and recommend clear courses of action.
Comfort with ambiguity and working across cross-functional teams.
Strong project management skills with a proven history of leading cross-functional initiatives.
Ability to translate abstract problems into clear and actionable project plans.
Experience stewarding data domains, metrics, or data governance frameworks
Position located Cork, Ireland
Limited travel, up to 10%.
