The Financial Accountant role at Fender involves managing the day-to-day accounting functions in the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with policies, handling month-end closes, preparing tax submissions, and supporting inventory reconciliations. The accountant also provides ad hoc support to finance managers and participates in process improvement initiatives.

We are searching for a Finance Accountant to join our Cavan team! This role will support the day to day running of the accounting function within the EMEA region.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and standard operating procedures and identify/establish internal controls and ensure their operating effectiveness,
- Manage and support month-end close adhering to Corporate specified deadlines, ensuring timely and complete reconciliations,
- Prepare, or working with third party advisors on, timely submissions of EU VAT & Intrastat returns, EU Sales Lists for The Netherlands and EU regions,
- Reconcile Fender Sales BV inventory balances and carry out regular stock counts,
- Support the preparation of intercompany transactions & balance reconciliations and agree with related parties with support of documentary evidence, where applicable,
- Support and prepare information ensuring timely submissions of annual Dutch & EU Branch statutory accounts,
- Support and prepare information ensuring timely submission of corporate income tax submissions and payments for the Dutch entity and its EU Branches, where applicable
- Support multi-currency bank reconciliations
- Support Fender BV’s logistics department with submission of environmental tax returns,
- Provide further ad hoc support to wider Finance Managers and Financial Controller where required,
- Identify approved process improvements and implement them once approved
- Provide holiday cover for finance manager
- Support EMEA accounts payable team
Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Part qualified/qualified accountant, AAT, ACA or ACCA equivalent,
- Ideally candidates will have 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role,
- Practical experience of statutory and fiscal reporting for medium sized companies,
- Hands on experience of processing journal entries with accompanying support and reconciliations,
- Practical experience of preparing EU VAT returns,
- Strong excel skills,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Skills/Knowledge
- SAP Knowledge
- Prior experience of intercompany accounting,
- Exposure to FX and multi-currency accounting
- Knowledge/Experience of EU VAT, Intrastat & EU Sales Listing,
- Knowledge of US/IFRS GAAP,
- Additional European language skills
