We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Business Architect who will match our business objectives with our technology strategies. They will simplify detailed goals and create understandable plans for our architecture. This job requires someone who can anticipate business needs, make overarching plans, and detailed designs to lead major changes in the company.
You will act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders, playing a pivotal role in our customer’s evolution towards a data-driven, AI-enabled and product-oriented enterprise. The successful candidate will maintain a holistic enterprise view of current and future-state capabilities, ensuring alignment with strategic business priorities and Group Tech governance.
Please note this role operates in a hybrid model with candidates expected to be able and willing to work from our customer's Dublin office once or twice per week.
Required skills & qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business Information Systems, Strategy, Computer Science)
- Extensive experience in enterprise and business architecture, with a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into architecture
- Deep expertise in Business Architecture frameworks, particularly BIZBOK, and functional application across complex enterprises
- Proven success influencing and partnering with senior business leaders to co-create and execute strategic roadmaps
- Experience in applying business models to link the company's strategy with change initiatives and identify new opportunities.
- Robust awareness with data and AI strategy, particularly from a business enablement and transformation perspective
- Senior-level architecture or IT management experience within matrixed, complex, or global environments
- Experience in leading significant investment decisions, coordinating team roles, and determining priorities
- Effective delivery in agile, product-led, or dynamic innovation environments
- Solid management and facilitation skills, with an ability to influence at CxO level
- Proven change leader with a track record of guiding major transformation programmes
- Exemplary business acumen; able to clearly articulate the business value of technology and data investments
- Outstanding communication skills, especially in simplifying complexity (e.g. strategy-on-a-page, capability maps, roadmaps)
- Able to plan strategic abilities, develop architecture frameworks, and ensure strategies are carried out proficiently.
- A confident team member who collaborates successfully. At ease working individually or taking charge of projects with various teams.
- Able to engage across disciplines including operating model design, investment planning, and platform strategy
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Engage directly with senior executives and domain leaders to shape strategic direction and influence enterprise-level decision-making
- Own architectural management for critical strategic themes, guiding the transformation journey across business and technology layers
- Lead the development of business capability models, conduct maturity assessments, and identify capability gaps and opportunities for growth
- Translate strategic goals into multi-domain, value stream–aligned roadmaps and target architectures, iterating in step with organisational priorities
- Collaborate with product and delivery teams to ensure architectural integrity across evolving initiatives, adapting as delivery progresses
- Drive thought leadership around how technology, data, and AI can enable business model innovation, competitive advantage, and operational excellence
- Harmonise domain-specific strategies with the wider enterprise architecture to ensure scalable, sustainable solutions
- Act as a trusted intermediary between business and technical stakeholders, fostering shared knowledge and a cohesive strategic narrative
- Collaborate with various teams on projects to improve company operations, enhance our skills, and upgrade our technology platforms.
- Support Group Tech commitment and governance adherence, ensuring architectural initiatives align with group-wide principles and long-term direction
- Engage with third-party vendors and strategic partners to align external capabilities with internal architectural goals
- Coach and mentor solution and domain architects to raise the standard of strategic alignment and business involvement across architecture practice
Strategic focus areas
- Shape and refine domain strategies linked to business outcomes and underpinning enterprise capabilities
- Design and maintain business-aligned architectural roadmaps rooted in strategic and delivery realities
- Work on planning the layout of our products and manage them to support plans and investments in focused areas.
- Partner with analytics and AI leaders to embed ethical, scalable, and business-aligned data capabilities
- Govern the integration of emerging technologies to ensure long-term fit-for-purpose scalability
