What do we need
We’re looking for a high-energy, results-driven Enterprise Account Executive to help us power innovation in the life sciences industry. This is not your typical sales role—this is about building deep relationships across top global life sciences companies, understanding their complex challenges, and delivering cutting-edge solutions that accelerate groundbreaking discoveries.
As an Enterprise Account Executive, you’ll be driving growth across your account base, engaging with key customer stakeholders across R&D, IT, and Data Science, and leading enterprise-level sales cycles. If you thrive on selling complex SaaS solutions into the life sciences industry, navigating intricate buying processes, and influencing decisions from the lab bench to the C-suite, this role is for you.
The primary focus for this Enterprise Account Executive is two of its flagship brands, Geneious and SnapGene and the combined offerings with Dotmatics Luma, our AI-Native Multimodal Research Platform for Scientific Intelligence. The Enterprise AE will take a proactive approach to building the long-term relationship within a customer by extending their current license(s) and introducing new products across the portfolio.
You will manage a mix of large strategic accounts and developing SMB accounts to drive customer satisfaction, application engagement, customer retention, and growth, while using your background in science or research to connect with users. You will serve as a key point of contact for high value customers, understanding their success criteria, sharing best practices, providing solution guidance, and helping them realize value from the broader Dotmatics suite of products. In this role, you are part coach, project manager, consultant and product specialist and your ultimate goal is to build usage and customer loyalty.
What you will do in this role:
- Solution Selling with Impact: You’re not just selling software—you’re solving critical business challenges. You’ll translate Dotmatic’s value into compelling, customized pitches that resonate with scientists, IT leaders, and executives alike.
- Principal Industry Advisor: Serve as a recognized thought leader in scientific research software, providing expert consultation that shapes how organizations approach their scientific challenges and digital transformation.
- Pipeline Generation Powerhouse: You will build and drive pipeline to identify new opportunities across multiple personas within each account. You’ll leverage every tool in the book—an established user base of several million across the Dotmatics portfolio, ABM, cold outreach, warm referrals, and events—to build relationships and drive deals.
- Negotiation & Closing Excellence: From discovery to signature, you’ll lead complex negotiations, navigate organizational roadblocks, and create long term strategic relationships.
- Strategic Account Management: Build trust and long-term partnerships by understanding your clients’ needs and ensuring our solutions align with their scientific and operational goals.
- Driving Process & Execution: Follow a best-in-class enterprise sales and customer success framework to create an accurate, repeatable, scalable success model.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, application scientists, customer success, external partners to deliver a seamless customer experience and drive sustained growth in Geneious, SnapGene and the broader Dotmatics brands.
- Always Be Curious: Stay on top of industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies. You’re curious, ambitious, and always looking to level up your sales game.
- Industry Representation: Serve as an external spokesperson for Dotmatics at industry conferences, panels, and executive forums. Build formal networks with key decision makers and establish thought leadership in scientific research technology.
- Help maintain retention & growth rates, looking for expansion opportunities
- Monitor customer usage data and proactively identify potential issues or areas for improvement to prevent churn.
- Provide clients with performance reports and insights, highlighting the value delivered and suggesting areas for improvement.
- Design and deliver Stakeholders communication strategies across the organization to further promote and embed the products in the research cycle.
- Work with our product team to inform decisions around future feature roadmap based on customer needs.
We are looking for people who have 7+ years in a sales, account management or customer success role managing complex accounts in the life sciences software space, with experience in SaaS software and the biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics and/or genomics industry and Ideally hold a degree in life sciences, chemistry, biology or similar science field.
The key skills we are looking for
- Life Sciences & Tech-Savvy: You’ve got a track record in enterprise SaaS sales, ideally in data management, automation, or AI that sells to R&D, IT, and business stakeholders.
- Enterprise Sales Pro: You know how to build pipeline, drive complex deals, and win big. You’re comfortable selling solutions that aren’t pre-budgeted and can craft compelling business cases that justify investment.
- Trusted Partner to Execs & Scientists: You can engage and build long lasting relationships with CxOs, R&D teams, Scientific Leaders, and IT Partners to understand their needs of today and tomorrow to influence multi-dimensional decision-making.
- Data-Driven & Forecasting Focused: You understand pipeline health, sales KPIs, and consistently deliver on your targets.
- High-Energy & Self-Motivated: You thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment where creativity, autonomy, and ownership are valued.
- Life Sciences Knowledge: You understand the R&D and IT landscape in biotech or pharma.
