QuillBot is looking for an English Content Manager I to join our team! 

In this role, you will research, improve, and provide feedback on content for the Scribbr, QuillBot, and LanguageTool website, and assist other Content Managers with innovative content projects and blog maintenance. 

The content mostly consists of, but is not limited to:

  • Articles: informative posts for our blog.
  • FAQs: questions related to our services or articles.
  • Manuals and e-books: long-form guides for students and professionals.
  • New types of content: e.g., example phrase bank, template bank, newsletters.

You will help shape and execute our content strategy across blogs, landing pages, and other channels, while also defining our long-term vision for content that drives growth, engagement, and brand authority. You’ll mentor writers and editors, foster a culture of creativity and data-driven decision-making, and partner closely with SEO, Brand, and Product teams to turn compelling ideas into content that reaches and resonates with millions of users worldwide. 

Responsibilities

  • Research and improve content as part of the content team
    • Analyze the current search results and search intent for relevant keywords using Ahrefs, Search Console, Amplitude, and Google Analytics and create content briefings
    • Critically analyze the current content and propose improvements, expansions, or rewrites where necessary
    • Execute simple link building strategies to improve rankings
  • Pitch new content ideas
    • Suggest relevant topics for articles
    • Come up with ideas for new categories or topic groupings
    • Analyze the topic groupings and present your ideas to the team
    • Assist Content Manager II in cross-team collaboration efforts to answer their content needs 
  • Track the performance of articles
    • Track the rankings of articles and other content initiatives and initiate ideas to improve them
    • Analyze bugs with the help of Ahrefs and take initiative to solve them (under guidance)
  • Feedback content writers
    • Feedback other content writers and content managers on basic SEO, language, and content
  • Secondary activities
    • Assisting other teams (eg, translations, testing products, collaborating on other projects)
    • Assist content managers and country marketing managers with their projects or execute the ideas (eg, phrase bank, template bank, example bank)
    • Assist with onboarding of new team members
  • Learning
    • Improve SEO knowledge and skills
    • Improve feedbacking skills
    • Improve training skills 
    • Contribute ideas or execute content-related projects with help

Qualifications

  • Native-level speaker of (US) English
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 2–4 years of experience in content creation, content management, or digital publishing
  • Strong understanding of SEO and GEO principles, keyword research, and content optimization tools (e.g,, Ahrefs, Amplitude, Google Search Console)
  • Interested in AI, AI writing tools, and generative engine optimization
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for detail and clarity
  • Ability to analyze content performance and translate insights into actionable improvements
  • Experience collaborating across teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable providing constructive feedback and mentoring peers or junior team members
  • Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g,, WordPress) and familiarity with content workflows
  • Self-starter mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with U.S. culture is a plus; IE experience living or studying in the U.S.

This role is eligible for hire in Germany & Netherlands.
We are a virtual-first company and have employees dispersed throughout the United States, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, and India. We have a market-based pay structure that varies by location. The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program and may be offered an equity award, benefits, and other types of compensation.
