Role Description

At Dropbox, we believe in simplifying the way people work together. At Dropbox Sign, we help bring this vision to life by building a simple yet powerful eSignature product that is both feature-rich and developer-friendly.

As the Engineering Manager of Sign’s Backend Team, you will lead the team responsible for the backbone technologies that power the entire Sign product. This includes owning and maintaining the core components and systems that drive the application’s business logic. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with modern technologies such as distributed messaging, database caching, asynchronous task processing, product analytics, and A/B testing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build out a holistic understanding of the Sign Codebase and feature set and be able to oversee team to deliver complex work (new features or refactors) with confidence.
  • Be an advocate and a champion for our customers and take a customer centric approach to everything that you do.
  • Build and grow the Poland Sign team, contributing to hiring and onboarding.
  • Develop expertise in the Sign product and e-signature domain to lead impactful projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help shape a customer-centric roadmap. Be a good thought partner to Product and help shape an impactful roadmap.
  • Drive results by identifying impactful opportunities and ensuring long-term growth and customer impact.
  • Inspire your team with a clear direction, fostering an environment where innovation flourishes and bold ideas are encouraged.
  • Foster talent development by supporting personal growth and career advancement. 
  • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive culture, championing team members and upholding our company values.
  • Ensure software and architecture excellence through quality feedback, risk mitigation, and alignment with technical strategy and business goals.

Requirements

  • Familiarity or willingness to work with PHP and the LAMP stack
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics) or equivalent technical experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of people management experience with an engineering team
  • Minimum of 5 year as a software engineer or equivalent technical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior e-signature experience
  • Prior experience with some of the following technologies: PHP & LAMP, AWS, Linux, distributed messaging, SQL/database optimization, Doctrine caching, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, Sentry, Selenium/Playwright

Compensation

Dropbox applies increased tax deductible costs (50%) to remuneration earned by certain qualifying employees (to the extent an employee will be involved in the creation of the software as an “author”) for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act.

Poland Pay Range

314 500 zł425 500 zł PLN
