Your Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 3 engineers responsible for emnify’s mission-critical mobile core services. This team ensures the connectivity, scalability, and reliability of our core network infrastructure, powering customer devices across 500+ mobile networks worldwide.
Together with your team, you will design, implement, and operate emnify’s mobile core, which includes essential 3GPP components such as SIGTRAN, Diameter routers, HLR/HSS, AuC, and SMSC. These services enable secure authentication, signaling, and messaging for devices using an emnify SIM card across 500+ networks.
To achieve this, you will work with Java, Go, Erlang, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Grafana, Prometheus, and microservices architectures, ensuring the scalability and resilience of our core network.
You will foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture while guiding technical decision-making, team growth, and cross-functional collaboration.
Location: Germany-wide or Poland-wide (monthly travel to Berlin required). If relocation, then Berlin or Würzburg.

Your Skills
- Effective Communication: Ability to translate complex technical concepts, align stakeholders, and foster team-wide transparency.
- Technical Competency: Experience in mobile core networks (SS7, SIGTRAN, Diameter, HLR/HSS, SMSC) and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform).
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Balance hands-on involvement with leadership responsibilities, making data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Accountability & Tactical Execution: Strong engineering leadership with a track record of driving high-performance teams and operational excellence.
- Relationship Building & Team Development: Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers, ensuring both individual and team growth.
