Scope:

  • Employee Relations - Serve as the primary point of contact in EMEA for handling workplace conflicts, mediations, and disputes between employees, clients and managers.
  • Compliance and Employment law - Maintain a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations across regions (e.g., EMEA/APAC), ensuring compliance in all ER activities
  • Strategic Partnership  - Partner with leadership teams to align ER strategies with organizational goals and workforce needs.
  • HR Operations -Support day-to-day HRBP activities such as workforce planning, talent management, while partnering on initiatives where ER intersects

Summary:  The Employee Relations, HRBP is responsible for acting as a trusted advisor, strategic partner, and subject matter expert in playing a critical role in creating a harmonious compliant, and high- performing workplace by managing employee relations issues while driving HR initiatives that align with business objectives.  This hybrid role bridges the gap between traditional HRBP responsibilities and employee relations expertise, emphasizing maintaining a positive workplace culture, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with EMEA employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to GDPR and country-specific legal requirements
  • Act as a cultural steward by promoting a workplace environment of respect, equity, and inclusion
  • Partner with leadership teams to align ER strategies with organizational goals and workforce needs
  • Advising leaders on employee impacts during organizational changes such as restructuring and downsizing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement HR programs and initiatives that align with business goals
  • Review and update HR policies to reflect best practices and legal requirements across the EMEA region
  • Support the annual performance review process, providing guidance to managers on setting goals, giving feedback, and managing underperformance
  • Partner with the HR Operations team to ensure seamless execution of daily HR related activities
  • Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and provide data-driven recommendations to address workforce challenges

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role with signification experience in employee relations
  • Experience conducting investigations and managing complex employee relations cases
  • Experience working in an international, matrixed organization

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Global mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, problem-solving ability, and discretion in handling sensitive matters
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data access and sharing software, i.e., Google Drive, Enterprise Resource Planning software, i.e., Workday, Office Suite software, i.e., Google docs, sheets, Microsoft suite, etc.

Physical Requirements:

Remote work environment that requires sitting/standing for extended periods of time.  Manual dexterity and proficiency with computers and typing, often for several hours a day.  This includes using a keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing equipment.  Visual and auditory abilities to review digital content, read documents, participate in virtual meetings, and collaborate effectively using various platforms. While most work will be conducted from a desk, remote work may still require basic mobility for home office setup adjustments, attending virtual presentations, or organizing workspace materials.

While primarily sedentary, this role benefits from incorporating breaks, stretching, and ergonomic adjustments to prevent strain from prolonged screen time.
