A Brief Overview
The Finance Manager, General Accounting, EMEA, manages the region’s accounts payable team as well as the team members responsible for banking, fixed assets, expenses, taxes and other general accounting processes for several businesses across EMEA.

The Manager is primarily responsible for the production and oversight of the statutory accounts and audit process for the relevant service companies as well as the general accounting processes for the regulated companies.

The role requires a strong process management skillset, and motivation to lead a team on analysing and optimising financial processes to improve efficiency and achieve business goals.

What you will do

  • Manage the streamlining, including automation where possible, of key accounting processes for the region and manage the successful roll out to optimise financial operations.
  • Manage processes to ensure appropriate controls and oversight are in place and functioning properly including but not limited to 4 eye review and reconciliations.
  • Effectively manage the team members responsible for the general accounting, banking, expenses, taxes (in conjunction with Group Tax) and accounts payable deliverables across EMEA; coaching the team to adopt continuous improvement practices and enhance process management skills.
  • Ensure a smooth month end process and review in detail monthly summary of results, including explanations of variances by understanding and validating management accounts and/or the relevant line items.
  • Prepare financial statements, manage audits of assigned entities and prepare/review reports to management or governing bodies as required.
  • Build strong working relationships across Finance and other relevant departments, including the Group centres, to ensure valid, accurate, complete and timely reporting.
  • Provide appropriate analyses and insights to Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Co-ordinate and prepare tailored and timely responses to various stakeholders’ inquiries.
  • Play an important role in important initiatives for the EMEA Finance team as relevant.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Accounting/Finance preferred.
  • Professional accountancy qualification e.g. ACCA/ACA required.
  • 6+ years auditing (or combined accounting and auditing) experience preferred.
  • PeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experience preferred.
  • Experience in financial services industry and/or team leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously;
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance process and procedures;
  • High attention to detail with a willingness to strive for process improvement and continuous development.
