Role Title: Associate, Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) Reporting
Reporting to: EBS Reporting Manager
Function: Actuarial Services
Type of contract: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
Location: Dublin or London

Purpose of this role

The successful candidate will be a member of the Athora Group Actuarial Reporting team.

The main responsibilities in this role will be to support in the production of financial and regulatory reporting under Bermuda’s Economic Balance Sheets (‘EBS’) framework, in particular the Bermudan Solvency Capital Requirement (‘BSCR’). This role will also encompass project based work with a focus on process improvements and remediations with the objective to shape and improve Athora Group’s reporting processes.

                                                                       

The role-holder will also have the opportunity to collaborate and liaise with local entities to ensure timely delivery of results to the Group and improve internal processes.

This role would be best-suited for nearly or newly-qualified actuaries who are interested in joining a fast-paced and dynamic business and add value to the EBS Reporting team in place.

Key Contribution Areas

  • Develop a good understanding of EBS BSCR Reporting. Build technical expertise to assist with methodology investigations and queries

  • Assist in production of the Group’s Economic Capital balance sheet and Capital Requirements

  • Assist in implementation of Capital Reporting methodology, processes and controls for Bermudan EBS BSCR and Economic Capital SCR across Athora Group

  • Be familiar with reporting processes so you can provide additional support to all areas of the business or so you can provide cover to other team members if needed to fulfill other roles in the team.

  • Develop a working relationship with Athora’s business units and other stakeholders in Athora Group

  • Analyse and explain results and material trends to senior management and other stakeholders

  • Contribute towards the success of various Athora Group actuarial and data transformation projects

  • Understanding and implementing analysis of change of BSCR and Economic Capital SCR

  • High levels of commitment and energy

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of presenting results to senior management

  • The ability to learn new technical skills and work with large amounts of data

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly

  • Collaborative and team player attitude with experience partnering with multiple teams and stakeholders

Functional or Technical Knowledge and Skill Required

  • Nearly or recently qualified actuary

  • Understanding of the Bermudan EBS or Solvency II regimes

  • Microsoft Office experience preferred (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
