We have a great opportunity for a Digital Marketing Lead, The role is responsible for developing and managing Bord Gáis Energy’s digital marketing, performance marketing and social media strategy designed to deliver a range of commercial and brand objectives.

This includes defining the role of digital in delivering commercial growth, customer engagement, and brand building. You will lead the digital performance marketing, content, and social media, ensuring integration across channels and consistency with customer needs and business priorities. Own the executional performance, governance, and continuous improvement of all paid digital and social media channels.

You’ll ensure each channel has a clear purpose, roadmap, and KPIs, and is run to best-practice standards. This includes overseeing always-on content and campaign execution, managing platform performance, driving optimisation, and ensuring cross-functional alignment with product, content, and customer experience teams.

 

About the role:

  • Digital Strategy: Lead digital marketing strategy for Energy and Services & Solutions, aligning with business and brand goals.
  • Performance Marketing: Drive and optimise performance marketing using advanced tools and agencies to meet acquisition and retention KPIs while maximising budget efficiency.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Develop reporting frameworks to track and improve digital marketing ROI; manage delivery of insights to commercial teams.
  • Social Media Strategy: Create a targeted social media approach to engage younger audiences and partner with specialists to embed best practices across marketing.
  • Marketing Effectiveness: Support marketing effectiveness initiatives, applying econometric insights to enhance performance.
  • Team Management & Upskilling: Lead and develop a high-performing digital team, fostering digital education and continuous learning across marketing.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align closely with product and customer experience teams for cohesive delivery.
  • Owned Media & SEO: Drive SEO and content marketing strategy to boost organic traffic and improve presence on platforms like Trustpilot and Google Business.
  • Campaign Design: Ensure cohesive digital campaign design across online assets.
  • Agency Management: Oversee agencies to align with strategic goals and optimise digital and social channel performance.
  • Budget Management: Manage digital and media budgets; collaborate on optimal budget allocation within overall marketing spend.

  • Expert in UX/UI design and digital platforms (web, mobile, e-commerce)
  • Skilled in SEO/SEM, analytics, CMS, A/B testing, and agile delivery
  • Data-driven, translating insights into practical actions
  • Strategic, hands-on leader with a creative, analytical mindset
  • Aligns digital strategy with business goals and ROI
  • Informed by customer behaviour and digital trends
  • Leads cross-functional teams and drives collaboration
  • Experienced in change and continuous improvement
  • Data-led decision maker focused on measurable outcomes
  • Encourages innovation through test-and-learn methods
  • Communicates clearly with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong influencer and collaborator
  • Visionary, customer-focused, agile, and accountable
  • Degree in Marketing, Digital, Tech or Business (Master’s preferred)
  • Proven delivery of high-impact digital projects
  • Skilled in GA, Adobe Experience Manager, Salesforce, Miro, Jira, etc.
  • Knowledge of WCAG, GDPR/CCPA, and digital compliance
