Deputy Chief Information Security Officer
Transforming Security at Workhuman
This senior leadership role will have a far-reaching impact across our organization. You'll help lead high-performing teams, integrate security into our product and enterprise infrastructure, and represent our security program to both internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will be crucial in keeping Workhuman ahead of emerging threats while driving our growth as a leader in recognition. The Deputy CISO will also oversee compliance with & certification to security standards and regulations while leading initiatives to enhance the organization's security posture in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
This is a critical hands-on role that partners closely with the CISO to provide technical leadership and guidance, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Workhuman's systems and data.
What you’ll do at Workhuman
- Partner with the CISO to lead the development and execution of Workhuman's global information security strategy, policies, and risk management framework.
- Provide strategic guidance across core security domains: Risk Management, Governance, Compliance, Security Operations, and Product Security.
- Help build and lead a global security team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, IT, and Legal, to embed security into our SaaS platform, evolving AI infrastructure and internal systems.
- Drive security awareness and training initiatives to strengthen our internal security culture.
- Drive process automation and efficiencies in line with the organization's policy on the use of AI and AI enhanced technologies.
- Oversee incident response planning and execution to ensure swift detection, containment, and resolution of security incidents.
- Lead vendor risk management processes to mitigate supply chain risks.
- Represent the security function to executive leadership and customers across all geographies and time zones, communicating our risk posture, key metrics, and strategic priorities.
- Assume CISO responsibilities when needed and report to the executive leadership. You'll gain invaluable experience working closely with a CISO and managing a complex security program at a growing and highly dynamic business.
What you’ll bring
- 15+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in senior executive leadership roles.
- Proven track record of leading across risk, compliance, security operations, and product security functions.
- Deep knowledge of security frameworks and global compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Experience in securing cloud-first and SaaS environments at scale.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence at the board and C-level.
- Background in high-growth software or automation companies; prior CISO experience and relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are advantageous.
- Strong technical background in security engineering, incident response, vulnerability management, and cloud security, SIEM, EDR, and SOAR.
