Location
We’re seeking a dynamic and motivated contributor to join our team in one of our key office locations: Dublin,Ireland. Our interns will be hybrid - sometimes you'll work from home, sometimes you'll work from the office. Managers and their organization will establish the frequency you'll need to go into the office to meet priorities.

About the Internship
The Security team’s mission is to strengthen Okta’s position as the leading Identity-as-a-service solutions provider by identifying and resolving risks to employees, products, and, most importantly, our customers. With the ever-increasing pace of cloud application adoption, companies are struggling to find ways to accurately assess risk and act at the speed of their business.
As a Defensive Cyber Operations Intern, you will work closely with our seasoned security professionals to research, detect, investigate, and hunt across threats in Okta’s environment. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on security detection and response experience, and the opportunity to learn about real threats that a SaaS company sees on a day to day basis.
What You’ll Get To Do
- Research threats and understand how systems can be attacked and defended.
- Develop custom detections using data analysis, creative thinking and lateral problem solving.
- Investigate and respond to anomalies using hypothesis driven problem solving.
- Develop and maintain custom tools to automate detection and response capabilities.
Who We are Looking For
- (In progress) BS in Information Systems or MIS, or a related degree and graduating between December 2025 and June 2026 inclusive.
- An excitement to learn about information security with a focus on Detection Engineering, Cyber Response, and Blue Teaming.
- A keen interest in defensive cyber capabilities, digital forensics, data analytics and how systems can be compromised.
- Knowledge of modern operating systems, cloud computing, SaaS applications or Security Operation Centres (SOCs).
- Knowledge of Python, SQL or Splunk is a bonus.
Okta’s Intern Program
As an intern, you’ll do real work that matters. While you’re on board, you’ll work on meaningful projects and have an opportunity to see what working at Okta is all about. You’ll also have the guidance of your mentor and manager to help you develop new skills.
Our interns have the opportunity to build a strong community - with their fellow interns, within their teams, and with the broader company. We want you to grow professionally and you’ll do that through participating in events like our Executive Speaker Series and Brown Bags. And of course, we want you to have fun too.
We offer 12 week(3 month) internships in Dublin,Ireland.
