We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist with a focus on operational research to join our customer’s team. You will be working on scoping, shaping, and utilising statistical and algorithmic knowledge to drive data-driven decisions and strategies.
Please note this role operates in a hybrid model, with candidates expected to be able and willing to work from our customer's Dublin office at least once per week.
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Conduct thorough data analysis to support business decisions and operational improvements
- Scope and shape complex data projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements
- Apply statistical and algorithmic techniques to examine data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights
- Gather, combine, and manipulate data from multiple sources (databases, dashboards, 3rd parties, etc.)
- Assess the value of data, considering potential use cases and quality issues
- Understand business processes and decisions to align data analysis with business needs
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and business metrics
- Build models (spreadsheet, statistical, Python, etc.) to support one-off decisions or prototype models for production
- Build dashboards in Tableau or Power BI as prototypes for productionisation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing best practices for data management and validation
- Build good relationships with the business to deliver useful insights and results in a collaborative way
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in operational research and advanced data analysis techniques
- Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages such as Python, R, or similar
- Robust analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and extract meaningful insights
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
- Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data findings successfully
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and autonomously with minimal supervision
