Marsh McLennan are building another brand-new team in our Dublin office and welcome applications for a Data Product Owner, specialising in Insurance products.

You will join as the first member of our Dublin team, sharing your experience of legacy data systems, data analysis, architecture, design, engineering, modelling technologies, and visualization tools, collaboratively working with our development teams to deploy.

You will also help build, develop & empower our new Dublin team.

Together with our Director of Digital Product Management, you will support improvements to implementation for our Dublin office for our global Placement and Policy Management (PPM) platform.

Combining technical expertise, business acumen, and strong communication skills, you will contribute to the success and competitive advantage of PPM, driving innovation and growth, through the global PPM platform through change of behaviours and process.

Bring your experience end-to-end software architecture, big data engineering, cloud engineering, or machine learning projects, products, or initiatives

Help us shape the strategic data direction for the platform, prioritizing, and managing its associated data development, and driving adoption across the Marsh business.

What you need to have:

  • Ability, experience or understanding of legacy data systems, data analysis, modelling technologies, and visualization tools including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Data design experience with product management ability to work with our development teams to deploy.
  • Experience in using data to inform decision-making and communicate insights to stakeholders in the context of global placement and policy operations.
  • Practical experience of data governance within system architecture.
  • Ability to translate the strategic, technical, and business needs into data products

What makes you stand out:

  • Proven experience working in a data role within Insurance broking & underwriting software vendor(s)
  • Experience in a leadership role for a digital product or relevant software solution.
  • SAFe® or Comparable Certification a Plus (relevant course topics include but not limited to Agile Product Manager, Lean Portfolio Manager, Product Owner / Product Manager, Agilist).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as JAVA, Python. Frameworks such as Angular and REACT, specifically in the context of building and implementing global placement and policy platforms.
  • Proven delivery experience within Insurance broking software, such as Guidewire, Verisk
  • Domain experience in at least one relevant area of financial services space that includes but not limited to Insurance, Markets, Risk, Management, Economics
  • Proficiency in product management tools and software delivery toolset, such as JIRA, AzureDevOps, etc.

We will count on you to:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business data needs and shape the vision and roadmap for the platform.
  • Work with the global data organization (Marsh Data Services) to ensure that PPM adheres to data standards and leverages best data practices.
  • Ensure data governance and quality within the platform:
  • Prioritize and manage the development of the global placement and policy platform:
  • Work with data scientists, engineers, and designers to ensure efficient development of the platform that meets the specific data needs of global placement and policy operations.
  • Engage with stakeholders from other Analytics Products teams to understand their data requirements and how the Placement data can support their analytics initiatives.
  • Ensure that all main stakeholders of the program (including local ones) are aligned with our global data initiatives and support the adherence to global data standards
  • Promote the platform, highlighting its data benefits to stakeholders and advocating for its use in global placement and policy decision-making.
  • Implement data management best practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security in the context of global placement and policy operations.
  • Collaborate with other Analytics Products (e.g. Blue[i]) and Management Intelligence teams within the organization that will be utilizing the Placement data to ensure seamless integration and alignment of data and insights.
  • Stay informed about the analytics tools and technologies used by other teams and explore opportunities for integration or interoperability with the digital products' data analytics tools.
  • Take ownership of the Policy and Placement conceptual and logical data models, including their structure, relationships, and attributes, to ensure consistency and scalability across the digital products, other strategic applications and global data masters
